Donna Baker resigned from her position as GIA President. I’m not surprised. I went to an atrocious experience with the GIA while she was serving as president. The GIA lab committed a gross malfunction in grading a very important diamond that belongs to my family. They were aware of the situation and they communicated with me in the matter... still they did not solve anything so I left the stone with them so they can resolve the situation. The other day, I went under the GIA website to conduct a report-search in order to download the so-called report that they claimed were the findings that belong to my stone. The search result gave the following "We can’t find anything that matches your search “00000000000” Please try again." I called the GIA about that and they could not find the report in their archive. I removed the report number for privacy reasons.

Corporate execs screw up all the time and then still "resign" with a nice parachute package. That email is weird.

It seems that I am perhaps not the only one who thought that some of the stones' grades were quietly inflated.
