Hera is not particularly show quality. She has a couple of white toes, and i'm sure one or two other issues. But she has a few champions in her bloodlines and we think she's pretty cute!

No, we live in South Africa and don't have petfinder here. However, we've created a Facebook page for our little town's SPCA and it is regularly updated to show all the new doggies. I think people are frightened off by this dog's size and the (imho, undeserved) Rottweiler and Pit Bull reputations. We really hope that he will find a home because he's the biggest love bug ever! He seems to think he's a lap dog and wants to sit on one's lap and cuddle all the time. He is happiest when his ears are being stroked and even though I know I'll hit out in hives afterwards, I simply can't stop myself.

You're so great to work so hard to try to find him a home. Good job!

I was thinking about this - I had no idea these dogs were called Scottish Deer Hounds.
Makes sense. I live in Scotland, so we just call them Deer Hounds. Like in Friends, when Joey told Ross to enjoy his trip to China and eat Chinese food and Chandler said that they just call it 'food' there...

I remember that line, it was hilarious

Yaaaay doggies. Blue roan cocker (I believe) and totally hopeless. She has the quaintly named 'slipped mask syndrome' meaning droopy lids (fortunately only a little) and low hung ears. Looks gorgeous to me 'tho!!!

This dog is just TOO CUTE!
