So I''m curious. How many of us have flush wedding sets, and how many don''t? If you set does not sit flush, does it bother you? Do you like the look of a slight gap?

My set doesn''t sit flush and I don''t mind at all. I knew it was going to be that way when our jeweller was making the e-ring to go with my wedding band. I had a choice of either high setting or a gap. Because I have to wear gloves everyday, I went for the gap. I am very happy with the look, but I probably wouldn''t have been before PS.

Mine does not sit flush and I don''t mind the gap.

Mine does not sit flush, it drives me batty, I deal with it (I just dont wear the e-ring most of the time).

Mine sits flush, which is what I originally wanted, but now I like the look of a gap. When I (eventually) reset my solitaire, I will have it made so that it does not sit flush with my bands.

My original setting sat flush, and I was obsessed with it to the point of soldering the rings together. My reset isn''t 100% flush, but it''s hardly noticeable, and it doesn''t bother me at all.

I wanted a "No, but I''m ok with it" option.

Agreed! Mine was made to sit flush but it''s too matchy-matchy. Also, because mine "matches" I cannot buy an off-the-rack band to wear with it. I really want a sapphire/diamond eternity band but none of them look good with my set

Mini threadjack: Have you tried something with baguettes alrernating with rounds? Might echo the baguettes in your ring?

Mine doesn''t sit flush and I don''t mind it too much. I ended up getting a second wband because I didn''t like the asymmetrical look of one band and the gap. Having two bands makes the set look complete and like it was supposed to have gaps.

I have! And that''s exactly what I want. Unfortunately, because the diamonds on my ring are only on the "top" of the finger, nothing in stores matches -- it hangs over where the baguettes end. Boo!!

End threadjack, sorry Laila! But people might consider that an extra band won''t always work with perfectly matching, flush settings.

Mine sit flush much of the time, but my engagement ring spins, leaving the curve in my band "exposed." Honestly, it drives me crazy. I didn't want a curved band but it was recommended (to protect the prongs in my trellis setting), so I got one. I often find myself lining up my engagement ring with the curve in the band so they stay together. I do prefer the look of flush settings for some reason.

Mine sits flush and I wanted it that way. We''ve been looking at upgrades and I cannot stand it if they don''t. I thought I could live with it, but I can''t.

My e-ring is a halo style and we had my w-ring custom made to fit around the halo. That's the way, the way, the way I like it

The prongs on my e-ring are trellised, like the Lucida, so I knew going into it that no regular w-band would sit flush and I was ok with that. I wanted a w-band to wear alone, so I didn't want one that curved either. I like the gap! It doesn't bother me at all, and since my set doesn't match, it's fitting that it's not flush either. Whenever I tried on bands that actually matched by e-ring (with bead set stones) the gap seemed out of place. So maybe with matching sets I like them to sit flush, but with mismatching I like the gap.

ETA: I also wanted my e-ring set as low as possible, which I knew would probably result in a gap.

My rings have a mind of their own and sometimes are flush and other times not. They''re two different sizes (eng is either 4.5 or 4.75 and wedding is 5) so they don''t entirely match up. I don''t care either way. If I could do it over, I think I''d have gone with just thicker style eng. ring and then a plain band to wear when I''m gardening or doing things where it''d not be a good idea to be wearing my diamond - hiking, etc.

I originally wanted a flush matching set. My ER is asscher halo with 3-sided pave band. I decided against a flush matching set because I didn''t want diamonds rubbing on diamonds. I opted for two very thin prong-set eternally bands to sit on either side of my ER. The gap allows the pave stones on the sides of my ER to show a little, and the two thin bands adds very sparkly symmetry.

Wow, we''re neck and neck with the flush fits and the gaps.

Thank you for all your replies!

My set is not matching, but I got lucky and managed to find a band that somehow fit my custom ering. It''s not perfectly flush, but the gap is hardly noticeable

Yes, it was pretty much the only thing I asked of my husband when we talked about rings. He designed it so the ring would tuck up under the bezel.

Mine sits flush, but I love the look of a gap!

I don''t have a set yet, but I prefer the look of a slight gap most of the time.

Mine sit flush. I like them either way though. The look of a non matchy, non flush set can be beautiful. I sometimes worry that my wedding ring takes a lot of focus away from my engagement ring.

My set has a small gap, which I like. My bands are super skinny, and I like the look of the gap. With thicker bands, I prefer a flush set.

I have a small gap with mine and that is the way I like it. I love the look of non-matching e-ring and w-ring.

I did not vote because there was no option for me to choose that fit me. I have a 3 stone ring and mine is flush. However, I wish it was not flush because my side stones are pretty large and everything looks too straight across. I am on the hunt for a wedding band that shows the roundness of the diamonds so it does not look like one big blob if that makes any sense.

Mine sit flush which I guess is unusual for an EC but I do like it that way.

I have a gap..I didn''t initially love it but I have grown to be quite fond of it.

Mine sits flush. (Well - I have a plain band that sits totally flush with the engagement ring, and a diamond 7-stone band that sits almost flush - there''s a very slight gap that isn''t really noticeable. I alternate between the two depending on what I feel like wearing that day). I like that they sit flush.
