Hello everyone!

I am a big fan of opals, and I have been looking to find a simple "eternity band" type opal ring to wear along with my e-ring. They aren''t easy to find, probably because opals are easily scratched and not that suitable for an everyday ring, but I did find this one. Anyway, do you think this would look good with my solitaire? Will the 9kt gold shared setting band look weird against the 18k Tiffany gold (they use more silver in their alloy so their gold is a little more yellowy)? My wedding band will be the standard Tiffany gold knife edge. Anyway, thoughts before I bite the bullet? Anyone buy from this retailer before? Any help/advice is much appreciated (especially if you have seen a ring like this elsewhere!)

Here is my ring.

They also seem to sell the same opal ring in 18k gold for $350 more ($699). Do you think it would be worth it to do that? I really can''t afford it, but do you think there is a big enough difference?

I don''t really know about the overall look of the opal band with the e-ring... I guess I might have to see them together. Love the e-ring, though!

Thanks, it is hard for me to picture as well. I was also thinking of this one, which is alternating sapphire and opal (but would get a full band, not the half shown here). Can''t decide! Any opinions?

Sapphire and Opal

I like the second one you posted hazelstone..

I also like the look of the second band a little better than the first.

I''m not really loving the quality of the workmanship on either I am afraid to say

I''m afraid that they aren''t easy to find because they would not last very long. Opals are so sensitive to pressure that the minute you forget that you''re wearing it, and grab anything, the opals on the bottom of the ring could POP and fall out. If you really like this style I would suggest seeing if any vendor carrying it can make it with maybe the bottom 1/4 or so in solid metal. It would last a LOT longer that way.
