I am so inspired by the stunning rings posted in this forum. After going through this thread:

I decided I loved Confection10's ring https://www.pricescope.com/forum/files/_33662.jpg
and apacherose's similar ring https://www.pricescope.com/forum/files/_33800.jpg.

So I purchased a pinkish-purplish spinel from Dana and asked DiamondZone if they could modify the setting to fit the shape. I just received pictures of the modified setting with my stone, and I'm not sure it's what I had in mind. I guess I thought they would alter the halo to the shape of the stone.

Does it look unique (which would be a good thing)? Or just weird (which would not)?
I had asked for photos of the modified design prior to setting the stone, but these are the only ones I received.

They are waiting for my approval.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I love this modified style! I think the only thing I'd change is to add milgrain to the bezel in the center just to make it more cohesive with the look overall. But I think it looks great and unique!

Thanks, lovedogs! I like that idea!

Well, it's kind of too late now, given that the setting is made and the stone is set. As with any vendor, the more detailed the instructions, the closer the final product will look like what you have in mind.

I'm new here, so I don't have any specialist knowledge although I love jewellery and have lurked for years. I think it looks beautiful, a very pretty stone and I really like the unusual setting. I think it's very like the 'inspiration' photos you linked and I'd be very happy with it. Hope it works out well for you.
