Does this diamond look OK?

Hi all, newbie here who's trying to learn as much as possible :)

I think I'm keen on the following diamond:
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...i-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-3598819
Any reason to be concerned?

It's a 0.8ct I VS2 James Allen True Hearts, GIA cert
(62% depth, 56% table, 35.0 crown angle, 40.8 pavillion angle, scoring 1.6 on HCA)
Small feathers near the edge, but no clouds etc. (I'm always glad when I can see the clarity defects mentioned in the certification, makes me more confident there isnt a nasty surprise.) Slight light leakage at some of the edges, but otherwise fairly ideal symmetry and light performance I think. Price seems good to me, although I'm happy to spend more if I'll get something noticeably better (not very interested in bigger).

I'm looking for 0.8-1.0ct eye-clean with maximum fire and brilliance, budget flexible. I'm quite keen on JA because I really like the way they display diamonds on their website, but open to alternatives if there is an issue with the above. I don't think I need better color than an I (but I will be setting it in white gold), and provided it is eye-clean I only care about clarity in so far as it will help light performance.

Thanks so much in advance!

PS: I've heard slightly mixed things about JA settings - any opinions? Planning on a 6-prong 14k white gold solitaire

This stone has the look that I love (I usually only see it in higher crowns and lower pavilions 35.5+/40.6 combos).
The feather looks innocuous . Looks like it will face up very white and bright. Could get an idealscope like Mattews suggest.

Look at these too: much better trade up policy AND it is super ideal. Ask wink or melissa for a photo and video:

This one says on hold, but you can ask about it: https://www.hpdiamonds.com/en-us/diamonddetail/HPD7895

They can also do a setting for you.

The HPD when you look at MM is basically the same spread and will look larger than the .8 because it is a superideal

HPD also has a try it before you buy it program.

The JA upgrade policy is you have to spend double.

The hpd upgrade policy is you have to spend more AND they have an 80% lifetime buy back program

Thanks so much guys!

There is an IS image on the JA website - it looks good to me (although I'm still not good at distinguishing between different H&A/super ideals on idealscope images). No ASETs with JA.

whitewave: Thanks a lot for the alternative suggestions. They certainly look like top-quality diamonds, although I'd be a bit hesitant buying a SI1 online without a full closeup video - I like to see all the inclusions myself just for the peace of mind (maybe this is just my paranoia). The stone that is currently on hold looks really good though - too bad.

For JA vs HPD: At the moment I'm not too worried about the upgrades - the SO isn't really into large stones which is why I'm only looking at under 1ct. If we were going to upgrade because of shrinkage with time then I think we'd definitely be spending double anyway. The HPD website seems to still be a bit under construction/changing - you can't select settings for a ring at the moment. Given the lack of videos, I'll stick with JA for the time being.

I've gone ahead with the JA stone. It's really reassuring having you guys agree that I'm not making a horrendous error :). Thanks again!

Wink will send you a video. CBI has personal service; you just have to contact them. JA is impersonal, a large corporation that has just changed hands with increasing complaints here.

I have a CBI SI2 and cannot see the inclusions with my 20x loupe. Can't find them. That is what super ideal branded means-- the stones have been vetted and they only carry stones that were cut to their strict standards.

Just wanted to clarify...

BTW, I just bought a little heart diamond from B2C and had it set into a bezel-- none of that was on their website either. They made the setting for me based on what I wanted and asked for and they sent me the CAD rendering of what they designed that I approved.

That is how many places work. HPD can order settings for you or they can make what you want to your specifications to your ring.
