I have a 4 prong setting and I wanted to know if the diamond should be mounted symetrically with the prongs of if it matters? My diamonds arrow pattern is off from the prongs of the setting. I hope this question makes sense.

if it worries you Larry ask them to turn it.

In a 4 claw setting it is good to have the longest directions (the + or- .o2mm) NS or EW. The reason is a little technical, but it reduces the risk of breakage.

My fiancé is quite active and I bought a diamond with a medium to slightly thick faceted girdle so that it would not be as susceptible to chipping. Is there anyway visually to tell if it is mounted in the best direction with a 10X loupe for best durability or will it matter? I was also curious if mounting direction made a difference in visual beauty or symmetry?

Thanks
