yes siver does have scrap value.It isnt even close to gold or platinum but its worth calling a pawn shop,jeweler or metal trade center and ask what they are giving per gram...its at about $18.00 per ounce at current market.
Most jewelers would probably buy broken silver for scrap, but silver jewelry rarely adds up that fast. Like maybe not even enough to cover the gas to get there. Also, some refiners dont work with silver either, so it depends who the jeweler works with. Heavier pieces, like broken silver tea service pieces and candle sticks would probably give more cash and might be more worthwhile to melt.
