DH purchased my ring 5 years ago from a local jewelry store in Austin.

Here's the specs:
Certificate UG040336110
Weight 0.52 ct.
Shape ROUND BRILLIANT
Color E
Clarity SI1
Measurements 5.14 - 5.11 x 3.26 mm
Depth 63.6
Table 56.0
Crown 15.8
Pavilion 44.0
Girdle THIN TO MEDIUM
Polish GOOD
Symmetry GOOD
Fluorescence NONE
Culet NONE

So in discovering Pricescope, I am now obsessed with all that is diamond. Particularly, now that I've come to realize that my diamond is a little deep. It is possible to have it recut w/o loosing too much weight for a higher quality stone?

And if so, what's the cost?

I really have no idea here...so take this with a grain of salt, but I don''t think the juice would be worth the squeeze for a .5 carat stone.

Unless the stone has really sentimental value and the REAL value doesn''t matter so much. I would just think it would be too expensive to make it worth it...but that is just my opinion.

the risk and cost involved would be more than what you could get a new stone on ps for.
