I know, it seems like such a ridiculous question. I'm looking for my first RHR and I never wear jewelry on that hand. That said, I LOVE WF's u-prong 2ct eternity ring. Will the stones/prongs rub against my middle and pinky fingers? This is a ring I'd wear everyday.

Comfort-wise, is channel setting best? I'm hoping you guys tell me you never feel the uternity prongs and it's easy to wear because I love the look of the uternity so much more than a plain channel band.

Thank you for your advice!

I'm looking for another eternity ring thread and I ran across this thread.

I do have a uternity band, mine was made by my local jeweler but very similar to the other u-prong eternity rings you see here on PScope. I had mine made to have stones set low and prongs as round as possible. It took about a week to get use to but I love it. I've said it before, it so comfortable that I wear it in place of my wedding set everyday now (it was suppose to be my RHR).

Mine has 17, 23 pointers, 18k white gold (I wish I would have ordered it in platinum though)

I am personally not a huge fan of channel set so I opted for a prong set eternity band. It's very comfortable both by itself and stacked with my wedding set. I've not had any problems with it rubbing and I wear it often.

OCmom- I'm debating upgrading my eternity (to ideal cut and VS stones- same size though) and I thought I was going to get white gold again as I've had no issues with it but I was also considering plat. Why do you wish you would've ordered yours in platinum?

To the OP- I have a shared prong setting and I've tried on super low uternity settings and I have to say they are much more comfy. The shared prong doesn't bother me at all but it did take some getting used to. With the uternity, I could barely tell I had a ring on, it was that comfy.

HI:

I've had all settings of eternity rings--and the u-prong was the style I could "feel" above all others. Yet it is the style I preferred visually and the only one I own today.

cheers--Sharon

I have one that I love to wear when I'm going out, but day-to-day on the hand I think it's a bit cumbersome. I guess like most things, if you were motivated you could get used to it.

I think it really depends. I tried one on the other week that was not SUPER comfy, but not bad. A while back I tried on a monster one at tiffany and OMG... my fingers couldn't even close!

I think if the stones are set super low, there won't be an issue.

LALove, when I ordered my uternity, I had preferred to put most of my budget on the stones (size, quality and color) because 18k white gold was a little less than platinum. Don't get me wrong, wgold is very shinny but once in a while, when I put it next to my platinum rings, I do see the color difference (so, so minor), it's not yellow but I do like the patina shines that platinum has. I haven't yet had it rodium dip since August but I do take it off at night and I don't shower with it. One of things on my wish list, to upgrade the stones to 30 pointers like yours and definitely in platinum.

Thanks OCMom! :wavey: I hate the way plat scratches but love the color before it gets a patina and LOVE the weight of it...

I love your eternity!! I've actually started thinking that 40 pointers look.. I dunno.. less elegant - on ME - than slightly smaller stones. Besides upgrading the cut/clarity I'm also considering going down to around 20 pointers.. maybe.

(Sorry for the threadjack OP!!)

OP- Here's a setting that's almost identical to one I tried on with 30 point stones and it was SO comfy with the stones set soooo low..

I tried on 20 and 25 pointers but found it too uncomfortable for me at the sides of my fingers due to the thickness. I have to say I am pretty sensitive though - I had a custom channel set ring made before and found the thickness at the sides (it wasn't as thick as the eternity) bothers me too. So I would suggest trying it on before you decide. Or how about a 5 stone ring?

I ordered and returned a basket set eternity with 15 pointers so I would not go larger than that for a full eternity. I am considering a 5 stone now since it can comfortably have larger stones and can be easily sized if needed.
