Just wondering if diamonds have seasonal prices? Such as Christmas and Valentine Days the prices from jewelers are higher? Or summer months are more than winter months because jewelers want to get rid of inventory?
Often in the trade diamonds will go up a little just before the Christmas season and slack off a little in January. We are talking a very small change, usually a couple of percent. If there is a terrible Chirstmas, it might be closer to 5% but that is rare...
Interestingly enough, jewelry store managers working for national chain stores in the mall have monthly sales quotas. If the store is close to hitting their quota, the manager can call their District Manager for a better discount to close the sale. Many sales quotas are made on the final day of the month. Bonuses and commissions are at stake. Not unlike auto dealerships...also anxious and aggressive at the end of the month. I speak from experience as a former District Manager for a national chain.
