Hi,

I''m thinking about getting an emerald cut diamond from Mondera. The GIA rpt is dated 2/2/2004 and I was wondering if the age of the report makes any difference. Does the fact that the diamond hasn''t sold for so long indicate some other problem with the diamond?

BTW the specs are 2.21 ct , F, VVS1, 9.06x6.41x4.17, Depth:65.1%, Table 64%, EX/VG pol/sym, Med girdle, none cutlet. Any thoughts on the diamond itself?

Thanks for the help!

Hi Trestles!

Welcome to Price Scope!

I would make sure the report is under 5 years old. Other than that the stone''s specs are quite nice. Impressive to find a nice depth on it. Perfect! Can you SEE the stone? To me a stone''s life and it''s specs are not the same. I remember seeing a radiant I was smitten with and the depth was 72%. Not what most people would consider ideal, but the FIRE...use your eyes. See if you can get it to an appraiser and SEE it... but it''s within good specs. Good luck!

Thanks, Nicrez! I''m a newbie to diamond buying, so your feedback is much appreciated.
