Just curious if anyone knew if Brian Gavin Diamonds offers a PS discount...I know they have a wire transfer discount but do they have a PS like Whiteflash? Thanks!

To my knowledge, yes, just ask.

I will ask as soon as I can, probably today. Lesley knows I am from Pricescope yet she has been quoting me the exact same prices as listed on the website so for my order they have offered no discount. Maybe asking is the magic words. If you find out otherwise, please update!

My bank charges a fee when doing a wire transfer, so it's really not worth the wait for me if I do it just for the discount. So with the wire transfer discount, it's nice to check your bank fees and see it it's worth it for your purchase.

In my experience the wire transfer cost was minimal compared to the discount associated offered for it. It really depends on the total value of goods being purchased. I bought from BGD. Just ask Lesley for the details.

Yep, exactly.

It also depends on your bank fees. For me, it also depends on how close it is to my order being placed or backlogged. If my money going through means they'll start work on it right away, I would rather pay by credit card up to like a 60$ extra than not to wait the 3 business days that the money has to go through with wire transfers. But if they can't start on it anyway then it's a different story.

But to each their own!

I'm just such an impatient person!!

Yes, I believe they do, ditto talk to Lesley.

I too find that the discount is worth it to wire compared to the wire fee which for me is only $20 with the place I use.

Btw I just realized I think I was thinking about my last wire transfer fee which was very high, but I forgot it was international.

bgd has the best customer service, ever.

My bank charged me $40 for an international transfer and the money went through the next day.

wachovia charges $25 for wire transfers before 3:30 PM, and BGD received it within 30 minutes.

Yes they do offer a PS discount. My wire transfer cost me $50 (my bank is expensive) and it took really long because I paid on a long weekend!

Thanks for the replies everyone--I''ll make sure to ask when I finally complete the purchase! (I think that would first mean figuring out exactly what I want lol--I''m being so indecisive lately!)

I just bought earrings from BGD and yes, when I asked about it, they offered me a PS discount

Mention that you belong to PS and Lesley will tell you the amount with the PS discount. You can then figure if paying for the wire transfer makes up for the WT discount. Mine was $30 for an international transfer. It was worth it for me. I did it in the late afternoon and it was at BGD by the next morning.

I considered using my credit card because it has 1% cashback. Unfortunately this only applied to my Canadian credit card. Work all the numbers.

I''m curious if anyone has one of those credit cards that insures loss or damage for the first 6 months. It might save getting special insurance for that time period.

YES they do offer PS discount just like WF. there''s 5%off of their BGD Signature stones, and 2% off the setting.
I just wired my money to them for my ering. Cant wait for its to be done.
good luck!

I''m interested in the wire fees. BofA is my bank and when I looked into it, MAN it was so expensive. Can you wire money from a bank other than your own? I''ll go to wacovia for it if it costs less! Or does it have to be from your own bank?

Kugie--

Do you know if you can combine the PS discount with the wire transfer discount? And are you saying that if you buy a BGD signature, it''s 5% off, and if you buy the setting it''s 2%?

Oh no! I just placed an order and sent the check. I''m waiting for my earrings! Oh well...I''ll just pretend it didn''t exist.

Yes, they offer a PS discount of 5% off the list price of diamonds only. This is NOT cumulative with the wire discount.

I just ordered my e-ring and I got 5% off the list price for the diamond, and 2% wire transfer discount on the setting.

My bank is charging $10 dollars for a wire transfer.

Aw man...I''m so disappointed! Does anyone know if I ask Lesley if she''ll do it even if I already placed the order and it''s in progress?

Call and ask!

I called Lesley yesterday and got a response from her differing on what I was reading on PS... thought I was misunderstanding her so I didn't post until I recieved clarification. Not sure how DLMC got both the diamond discount as well as the wire transfer discount, I could have misunderstood again??

But just called and confirmed with Lesley again a few moments ago, and she might come onto post herself about it "officially". Basically it's not in policy on their website but the info is:

There is a 5% discount on their Brian Gavin signature diamonds, but if you take the 5% discount then you are not eligible to add on another 2% for wire transfer discounts.
There is no PS discount for settings. There only is the 2% discount for wire transfers.

Just a side note but I LOVE talking to Lesley. She's amazing, being so willing to answer my hundreds of calls and inquires ALL the time when they are swamped with business (which is a great thing!)

What you say matches exactly what DLMC said

In essence, PSers who pay by wire get total 5% off BGD signature stones. This is the same as other vendors I think.

I did misunderstand, my fault! It's difficult using my cell phone to read and post.

But everythings cleared up. Yay!
