Does Anyone See Haziness or Cloudiness In This Diamond?

Hi everyone! I’ve been reading your website a lot. And I’ve learned a lot. Thank you.

I was wondering if people would look at this diamond video and tell me if they think it looks hazy or cloudy? It has a strong blue fluorescence (Color is J and Clarity is VS1. Cut, polish, symmetry are all Excellent).

I’ve read a lot of articles on fluorescence. When I look at the video I personally can’t see any haziness or cloudiness. But I’m wondering if your expert eyes see anything that I don’t?

Your opinion is much appreciated. If I don’t like the diamond I can return it in 30 days. So getting an honest assessment is really crucial.

Did you purchase the stone? It says unavailable. I can’t see any haziness and or milkiness but I’m no expert.
I will also say it’s rare for a diamond to have negative effects from fluorescence. Although rare it can happen as I had a stone many years ago negatively impacted by SBF. Now thinking back it may have even been VSBF. I think these stones need to be seen in person to be appreciated. I love them, but not everyone does due to how certain lighting conditions can change its appearance. GL!

Show us the cert - there is some graining and that can cause problems. Did you ask their gemologist to check the stone?
The lighting used in those videos will not show up any hazy issues.

Hi. Yes, here is the GIA cert. It mentions surface graining in the comments and I did ask for a visual inspection. I was told that the diamond is eye clean and the graining has no impact on the sparkle in any way. But I didn’t think to ask about the fluorescence.

I like to look at the stone and, from the photo, to my eye, it looks very pretty. It also does not look like a J to me - it is very bright!
Have you received it yet and, if so, what do you think of it IRL? Curious how it appears when it isn't captured by the fancy photography, as @Garry H (Cut Nut) has mentioned.

I wasn't even looking at the proportions--just seeing if I saw haze. But yeah, those arent proportions I would recommend.

Hi. No I haven’t received it yet. I too was wondering about the proportions but the excellent cut and the brightness and color made it seem like a good choice.
