It's interesting that plastic surgery was used as the analogy for shopping for a diamond. On one hand it actually fits since the stones being discussed have been enhanced with lasers to take out blemishes. On the other, it could be perceived as quite shallow in my opinion. Whatever makes you happy though. I would have likely gone with shopping for a house, likely because we just went through that process and I find ample similarities. At the least it sounds warmer and more inviting than a doctors office to get new cutlets put in.
