Does anyone know a good company to insure a diamond in NY?

Hi all, I'm looking to insure a diamond.
i don't really want to add-on to home insurance or anything,
just a reliable insurer to just cover the diamond.
Does anyone know who would be good to use if you live in the NYC area?

Jeweler's Mutual or Chubb.

Can you explain why you don't want this as a rider on your Homeowners?

I agree, Jewelers Mutual is a good company to use. The only drawback, if you consider it one, is that in case of loss, they will usually send you to a jeweler that is one of their policyholders to replace. I'm not sure if you can pick a jeweler who is not a JM policyholder. They prefer to keep the business amongst their clients. The advantage to a company like JM is that if you place any Homeowners claims, you don't have to worry about your Jewelery premium going up, since it is with a separate company.

My FI used Chubb... our quote was cheaper than JM. We had to email them a copy of the appraisal.

I have Chubb too, but it's a rider on my homeowners - I didn't think they would do a stand alone policy, but maybe my info is outdated.
