I know a number of people own the plain semi-bezel, but does anyone have it with diamonds? Would love to see handshots, if you have them!

Oh wow, I wish! It's stunning! I'll definitely keep an eye on this thread.

I *love* this setting. Sadly I've never come across any pictures of it on PS or Goggle despite all my searching. Someone out there has to own one though, right :wink2:?

WOW!

Now that's a awesome semi bezel setting!

yes, OP, if you get it please post lost of pics!

I don't have pics but I almost got it for my ering setting. It is beautiful!!! It's much more dainty in person than it appears, wish I'd taken pics.

Can you ask them to adjust the melee color through Sholdt?

I'm considering this for a reset, but I'm a little concerned about the color of my stone (M-N) against the pave and all that white metal (I prefer platinum). It's about 2.3 ct., so it does show its color.

Here's a link to the original ring: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/please-show-me-your-m-colour-stones.105454/#post-1748393#p1748393.....

yeah, this might highlight the contrast? I think it is a beautiful setting though.

I hadn't considered customizing the melee. Might the semi-bezel help hide the color? I'm trying to decide between this setting and the plain semi-bezel without diamonds.

I am currently working with the nice people at Sholdt to set a stone. I live near their workshop and so have been working directly through them. They are wonderful and, when I toured their place, they were very excited about the custom work they do. I'm sure they would find you lower color melee if you wanted.

I think that the contrast between the platinum and your warm stone could be beautiful. Something to think about with the color is that the whole profile of your diamond shows in both the plain semi-bezel and the one with pave. If you think that would bother you, would you consider a full bezel?

Personally, I like the plain. What makes Sholdt designs--esp the semi-bezel--beautiful to me is their graceful, architectural look. Your diamond is lovely and the setting will really allow it to speak for itself. :)

Also, this video from GOG might help you decide if you like the idea of higher color melee with your stone:

Thanks, Nicoleanne. The video is really helpful and interesting. After watching it, I think I actually like the contrast between the warmer center stone and the whiter melee. Maybe I should be trying to accentuate my diamond's color rather than hiding it.

I also love the plain semi-bezel for all the reasons you mentioned and had been planning on it for the reset. But then I saw the pave version in a local store and fell in love! It is much more delicate and less "blingy" in person. And I think it matches my wedding band very well. The price difference between the two is considerable, however, which is why I'm hesitating and second guessing...

Anyone else out there with a warmer center stone in a pave setting who can chime in?

Or anyone else who might have an opinion on either setting?
