Does anybody have info on this ring

A family friend found this ring in an old jewelry box of their mother. The mother had ties to Lake County Ohio and Missouri. Mother was born in early 1900s but other than that we can’t find much about this piece. Or any info on where I might be able to learn about this ring?

Looks like a newer vintage (1970s or later) American piece to me, judging from the chunky retro design and the sandy texture on the recessed areas. Sterling silver? Maybe a class ring?

That's a sorority ring.. trying to investigate now..I would guess Delta Gamma Alpha but I don't know really. Ask her where she went to college
