So I currently have 13 lip products in my purse AND a bucket-full at home....I think I may have a problem :)
My current fav. is Twist and Pout, LOVE IT!!
Is anybody else as lip crazed as me?? and if so what's your current favorite??

Years ago I used a lip balm all the time.
Now I never do.

I wonder whether it is physiologically addictive.
Maybe they put something in it that makes your lips seem moist temporarily, while actually drying them out in the long term.
Hence you keep buying it.

HI:

Lipstick, lip glosses, lip pencils....you name it, but only one balm, Chanel. And yes, they are usually all in my purse at once! :cheeky:

cheers--Sharon

Beaver Balm lip balm stick in Tangerine. Though I would like to try that Sugar brand lip balm asap. (Pricey though -- like $20+ bucks a stick!)

Vaseline. Perfect for moist, glossy lips. Never drying and oh so inexpensive

Good point. I like Aquaphor quite a bit. Nearly the same thing!

i use aquaphor too when my lips get super-duper dry & i love carmex (also super cheap-o).

but as for the original question---guilty as charged. i also have probably 13 lip products in my purse & bunches more in my makeup bag. my fav is cranberry shimmer lip balm from the body shop. it's my go to; the perfect splash of color w/o being overwhelming.

Um, yes. I have no less than five different lip glosses with me at all times, and I have a drawer full of them at home. Right now I am into layering--lip stain, then lip balm, then gloss over that, adding balm and gloss copiously throughout the day.

YAY!! I'm not alone LOL :appl:
I for sure want to try that Beaver Balm that was mentioned, sounds interesting :cheeky:
Oh, and the stain then gloss idea, BRILLIANT!!

i cannot go anywhere without a chapstick. Not really a fancy obsession but an obsession nonetheless. If I go somewhere for more than an hour and don't have one I will go buy one. My lips get really dry fast and will crack & bleed. I just can't stand it!

I have the world's worse chapped lips all year long. My latest favorite is Kiss My Face cranberry orange. But I also have Burt's Bees, two shades of Clinique Superbalm and Rosebud Salve Brambleberry Rose in my purse.

OK, so I've tried to find the Chanel lip balm and all I can find are their lip glosses and lipsticks, where can I find it?? Sounds so wonderful

I have no science to back it up, but I've heard the same thing!

My lip products are usually pretty neutral- I don't consider my lips to be my best feature.

I have to admit, I have also heard the same thing and I believe it to be true, but I'm just too attached to my products, I don't want to let go :( Hence the problem...

By the way for those of you who have the cracked lips, Murad's lip treatment is a bit pricey but great for the winter season, also EOS (evolution of smooth) is affordable and wonderful, it's all organic all natural and really hydrating :)

Fresh Sugar and Aveeno chapstick. Both of them are fantastic, though the Aveeno is much easier on the wallet!

Me!

FI's dad made me a lipstick holder for Christmas a couple years ago. I think it holds about 20 lipsticks or so. It's really awesome, but I have waaaaay more lip products than it will hold.

I am in love with Maybelline's Color Sensational lipstick! I have several tubes of their shade Plaza Pink laying around. I stash them away wherever I think I'm going to need them, like a squirrel. When I find a shade I love, I start hoarding. For me, Plaza Pink is the perfect, neutraly pink. I'm pretty fair with almost black hair and greenish-brown eyes. I don't even have to bother checking a mirror after I put it on.

Another product I love is Loreal's Colour Riche in Spiced Cider. I don't like the way a true red lip color looks on me, so this is my version of red. It's a kind of pinkish brown.

For lip balm, Burt's Bees is the bees' knees!

I bought a lipstick holder at the Container Store that held 12 lipsticks. I remember thinking while at the store that I couldn't possibly have more than 12 lipsticks. The next day, I had to go and exchange it for the one that can hold 24 tubes.

OH MY GOSH! How could I possibly not know about lipstick holders! No idea, now I need to get a few to hold my daily favs. Thanks gals :appl:

Smart fellow you are, Ken (besides having awesome stones). Many have alcohol in them = drying.
Good catch.

I don't have many lip glosses because they never seem to last - I apply and it's gone in 45min, so I don't bother most times. It's especially bad at parties (where I would want to wear lip gloss the most) because I'm eating and drinking and it's gone in minutes.

I'm extremely addicted to lip balm though! At home I have little tubs of vaseline everywhere - that's my favorite one, but it's not easy to bring a tub every where I go :(sad I like Burt's Bees Pomegranate chapstick and keep a couple in my purse at all times.

I'm intrigued by Aquaphor now! I've never even heard of it outside PS, but maybe I need to try it now. Though it seems to be more of a lotion than a lip product? Do they also make a lip product that I'm not seeing?

The only thing I use is Carmex. My oldest sister found it during college in the early eighties and turned me on to it when I was young. It has camphor in it so it's great for keping your lips soft and healing cracks. It lasts quite a bit, only needing to re-apply it maybe twice a day. I don't wear anything else.

Back around the late 80s the drugstore in Copley Square where my sister and I would buy it closed. This was the only place we could find it, so when she found out they were closing she bought the remaining 20 or so pots they had. A couple of months later it inspired an article in the Boston Herald about Carmex fans- how we swear by it and must buy it in the pots, never the little sqeeze tube. Fortunately now I can find it in most CVS's. I definitely still hoard them though.

I used to but DH prefers to kiss bare lips. So I just use balm these days.

Aquaphor makes a lip balm in addition to their lotion. I've seen it at the drug store and I might pick it up and try it one of these days. I need to get something for the winter, because my lips definitely get really chapped.

I use Vaseline at morning and at night. I have a variety of glosses I use, but I almost always forget to put them on!

I do always carry C.O. Bigelow's rosebud balm with me, and use that several times a day. I want to get more into lip stains (since they're more set it and forget it than most lipsticks), but I don't know any good, reasonably-priced ones. I also tend to need fairly neutral colours - I definitely don't like to look like I'm wearing a lot of make-up at the office. I do a pretty bare-looking face for work, but need a hint of colour on my lips.

I've used the regular Aquaphor on my lips if they need super intense treatment. Its a sort of Vaseline-lite consistancy. Not really a *lotion* as much as a thick *gel*.

XXEDITXXX BADGER (not Beaver) Balm is AWESOMESAUCE. I discovered it by accident at a little Mom & Pop by me that doesn't even carry it anymore because Burts Bees is so much more popular. But Beaver Balm works so much better for me & has a light, smooth, silky, barely-there feel .. vs. the waxy kind of thing Burts Bees has ... or the gummy thing other balms can have.

You can usually find it at health food stores. Sometimes the pots are more easily found that the tubes. Don't have experience w/the pots so can't vouch for them. (They are more like body balms or overall balms ... not lip specific, as the chapstick shaped tube ones are).

ETA:

STOP THE PRESSES >>>> STOP THE PRESSES >>>>>>>

It is NOT BEAVER BALM. (oops) .... it is BADGER BALM. Do not be fooled by imitations!!!!!!!!!!!

Urban decay lip stain in greedy

Smashbox lipgloss in agent

NYC plumpin' large lips (can't remember the name it's like $3.99 at CVS) in toffee kiss

Thank goodness you clarified. My mind went to terrible terrible places.

I am a lip balm junkie...my lips get chapped, painfully so, if I look at a postcard with a beach on it...so midwest winters aren't kind to me.

I think I have about 30 different tubes, jars, buckets...always go back to Vaseline....and exfoliating with a washcloth.
I also wear lots-o-Cherry Chapstick.

No Beaver Balm for my mouth. Or Badger, for that matter. But now I'm rather curious.

I need my Carmex...several times a day...

I have a jar of Aquaphor - and I often wonder...isn't it the EXACT same thing as Vaseline, but a lot more expensive?
