You got it! I think the most important thing is that the piece is made in size to reflect the size of the stone. I.e., that the band is thinner for a smaller stone, etc. Tiffany''s does this and thus I have seen some gorgeous 1/3 ct. etoile rings. The cheap ones don''t seem to do this and I think that''s where it''s lost.
I would bet that WF does customize the band width though, so I would give them a call.
