I wouldn't wear a solitaire diamond engagement ring on my right hand. However, I would happily wear a three stone diamond ring, or a more detailed setting with a diamond in it (my Beaudry ring with the asscher, for example). I already have a solitaire on my left hand, so I wouldn't care to wear one on my right. However, if I did for some reason get another diamond solitaire ring, I would alternate wearing it on my left ring finger.
Like Rubies-R-Me, I really prefer wearing a ring on my left hand (for the same reasons she said) and do not wear a RHR very often.

Ah! I assumed the title was the question so I said yes. But no. Its not weird at all IMHO. But then again my e ring looks a bit like rhr, so I don't really care much about what goes where
