Do you wear a colored gemstone band with your e-ring?

Does wearing a colored gemstone band with your e-ring make your ring look less like a wedding ring?

Or do you find it too distracting? In other words, does it stop looking like a wedding ring set and more like a right hand ring? If you have any pictures, can you please post them?
TIA

I've seen many examples on PS that are wonderful examples of coloured stone bands with more traditional e-rings. I wish I could have a gemstone wedding band that would go with my set but it just wouldn't suit it.

Eta: and to answer your question, when done 'right' (proper size stones for example) it isn't distracting but enhancing.

everyone has in their head a certain way an wedding set "should" look.

if you're more traditional you might think it should exclude colored stones.

I love french cut bands, or bezel bands, especially when stacked with other bands.

I think if its on your left hand it looks like a wedding set! ;))

I totally do. I actually am fonder of coloured stones than I am diamonds, so when my husband surprised me with a diamond solitaire e-ring, my wedding band was my opportunity to find something for regular wear that is much more *me*. I think that my band actually makes everything on my ring finger look more eye-catching.

I like the look of a wedding set, worn with a third gemstone band. I feel like it somehow all looks balanced.

How lovely Gypsy! I love the pop of color instead of blending it adds a nice touch.

Thanks! I love it too.

My birthstone is sapphire. But I love green and find it works well for all seasons. Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter there are shades of green that I love and that I wear. So for me it was the better choice than blue. And it works with all neutrals, which is what I wear most often.

I don't have a huge budget for jewelry, so I can't afford to have one band for each color I like, so I picked the one that works best for me.

I did buy a sapphire band as well (I buy my bands on ebay. I don't pay retail prices anymore) and I didn't work for me at all.

I think you just have to try on bands, and see what you prefer. And... don't spend too much. I find that if I get a bargain, I am happier with my pieces long term.

Just be honest with yourself and figure out what works for you.

I wear a sapphire band with a few of my sets. I actually think it doesn't look too modern or playful. But it might just be the blue color. If it was pink I would agree it would look different.

If you want even more eye candy check out this thread for CS eternities. Many are stacked in wedding sets.

Same! I think as long as it's on the culturally appropriate finger, it doesn't matter what it looks like.

My go-to wedding band for almost the past year has been a yg ruby and diamond channel set number. It looks pretty weddingy to me!

I have sort of an eternity band obsession...two of my faves are sapphire/diamond ones. I always receive compliments when I wear with my e ring.

Thanks to everyone for your replies, esp those who posted eye candy! Here is a picture of mine. image_1998.jpg

Thanks Niel! I'm super excited about that band. It's a platinum eternity of single cut diamonds. I know it's contrasts a lot in terms of color with my ering bit I love it anyway

I love it. Both bands are so vintage and pretty. Interesting mix of old and new with your e ring

I don't have one but I would wear one. I love the look and still looks very wedding-y to me.

That emerald ring of yours is still on my WANT list Gypsy.......

I was thinking of selling it for a while. My hands have been really swollen for about 6 months and I was thinking that I would never be able to wear it again. But... I didn't do it, and now I'm glad. I really love my band and it's one of my favorite pieces. If you can get one... DO IT!

And yes, I'm a shameless enabler.

Gypsy why couldn't you wear it? There is a sizing bar on the ring so you could just have it adjusted. I bought my sapphire version off the DJ website once I lost out on your emerald one (by only $20 now that is salt to the wound!!!) and just had it adjusted from the 6.5 down to a 5.5 without any issue.

I hadn't really thought about adjusting the size on it. I guess it can be sized, you are right. Great point! :wavey:
