I run the brush under water first, and I always cap the toothpaste. And the toothbrushes/paste are in the cabinet, not out in the open..tho I've never heard of a cover for them so I think I'll look into that too. I put lids back on things when I'm done, always. Lids are there for a reason. I hate going in JD's bathroom..which is why I so seldom do. Deodorant, lid over here someplace else. Toothpaste..lid over yonder. Cologne..lid maybe on top of the medicine cabinet or who knows where..All spread out over the back of the toilet and the sink. :?

We always put the cap back on the toothpaste.

I don't brush my teeth, because then the little beer straw would fall out of my mouth . . .

That reminds me...
I knew a guy who had horrible hygiene.

We were all talking about flossing and he said he tried flossing only once.
He said it grossed him out because he could fee the spaces between his teeth. EEEEEWWWW!!!

at least he still had space between his teeth. it could have been filled w/ so much plaque and tartar that there's zero space. :errrr:

Ha! What a thread

Yes, I always replace the cap, and it bugs me that my fiance doesn't. As a result we regularly have a toothpaste "leak" on to our washbasin, and in that tricky place behind the tap! If it dries, it's a nightmare to remove. But then I regularly close everything, and he tends to leave to closet doors open etc...

I remember an older cousin once telling a naive me (when I was about 16) that it's different living together and little things like this can lead to a divorce :o I remember thinking "WHY"??? Anyway, I still think divorce is wayyyy to extreme, you'll be relieved to hear  , but it's funny how different we all over, even with the small stuff.

Two pages? On this topic? Really?

Who'da thunk it?

Desperate for things to discuss, are we?

Or just imitating DF?

Yes. Too many bacteria and other spores floating around in the bathroom.

While I do realize that I am supposed to be immune to the bacteria that come from my body and the bodies of the people I live with, the very idea of their fecal bacteria landing on my toothpaste makes me queasy.

There, I just revealed my OCD side to the public. You can't reason with it. Putting the cap on the toothpaste is much easier.

I always put the cap back on and keep the paste and brush in the medicine cabinet.

I also wet the brush before putting the paste on. DH puts on the paste, then runs under water. Half the time, a big glob of paste will fall off the brush and just sit..... in the sink.... until I wipe out his sink. It's a constant conflict in our house. He'd be happy to live with big blobs of toothpaste and shaving cream all over his sink. Grosses me out. :knockout:

Now that I think about it maybe my teeth brushing habits are a little off? I put rinse the brush with water and THEN put the toothpaste on. Everyone does it the other way?

I do this too. BUT I'm strange. I don't like thinking about the things that could fly-in or crawl into the tube.

This was the biggest fight boyfriend and I had when we moved in together. We settled it with searate toothpaste tubes.

always!! now if you're asking whether the cap is sometimes shoved back on over a globby mess of half-dried toothpaste.. that might also be a yes :naughty:
