Never. I hate that our society thinks women should stop trying past a certain age. I don''t care if woman want to, they should be able to but there are some things about it people get really wierd about. For example, woman who keep their hair long after it has gone grey or in any way more stylish than the short curls. I have actually heard a woman being told it is inappropriate to have long hair at her age when it looked great. If you can rock the look, whatever it is, you are not too old for it.Date: 5/16/2010 5:57:55 PM

At what age should a woman stop wearing high heels?
Never?
I''m not talking about medical necessity.
I''m talking about the look.
I share Haven''s experience and I don''t have bunions, corns or any twisted toes as a result. What I do have now, though, is an inner ear problem that would cause me to fall on my face if I tried.Date: 5/16/2010 3:45:34 PM

That''s a good question, Mrs. M.
I wear pretty high heels on a regular basis (4'' to 5'') and have no problem walking in them at all. I wore 5'' heels on my wedding day, walked quite gracefully and danced for hours, and have the video to prove it!![]()
I can''t remember ever having had a problem walking in heels. It wasn''t like I had to learn to do it or anything. When I was little I ran around the house in those plastic pink and purple heels they used to sell. A horrible toy, to be sure, but maybe that''s why I can easily walk in them now.
Oh, I don''t mean that, miniskirts after 35 should NEVER be allowed, but like I said, if they can rock it. If Sophia Loren or Helen Mirran decide to wear low cuts tops, they should, they can pull it off. I want to be Fionnula Flanagan with age. She often wears her hair long, still wears low cut stuff, but not innappropriately low and her legs look better than mine.Date: 5/16/2010 6:18:54 PM

Funny you should mention long grey hair.
When I posed the question I visualized an old woman with long grey hair and high heels and a low-cut top.
So you feel there is no such thing as age-appropriate appearance?
Myself, I''m conflicted on this, for both women and men.
We live in a Southern California beach city, and I''ve seen men clearly in their 60s wearing speedos, rollerblades and iPods boogying down our beach bike path.
I think, Bless his heart, I don''t have the huevos to do that.
Oh don''t visualize that kenny - you''ll have nightmares.Date: 5/16/2010 6:18:54 PM

There''s no one gonna see my white legs this summer and think I should put on pants! Well, except for the two weeks in san diego... lolDate: 5/16/2010 1:40:36 PM

If my legs weren''t so pasty white right now, I would!
They are car-to-bar shoes. I can stand in them for the time it takes me to brush my hair before I go out. I therefore go out without them. Plus I''m a slow learner - want them in black, black, olive or red?Date: 5/16/2010 4:58:51 PM

ksinger--Oh, I know. My husband is a muscle specialist who specializes in foot function. I''m very blessed that I have him around to keep my body functioning. I think he''s the main reason that I am able to wear such high heels without pain.
Are Naots less expensive in Israel? I know it''s an Israeli company. If so, I wonder if we could figure out a way for my sister to bring some back for you . . . Hmmm.
Mrs. M.--You have unworn Jimmy Choos?! Are they uncomfortable? I''ve never tried a pair because they are just too far out of my price range.
Which is why I don''t wear heels.Date: 5/16/2010 2:14:39 PM

Heels might make a woman''s legs look better, but only if she can walk properly and confidently in them. The high-heel-hobble is sooo not sexy!
