Do you think an ideal cut lab diamond would make a good side stone

I can’t believe I’m making this post, but DH is begging me to make a new sapphire ring since I can’t find mine. I would probably do a 3 stone trellis with sapphire center with diamond sides. Similar to what I had.

I’m wondering how lab stones would be for side stones. I’ve done halo and it’s the same imo to earth mined. For the lost ring, they were. 56 and .57 IIRC.

Since you all have larger labs, what do you think?

I'm so sorry about your rings, whitewave.

They will look the same as natural, especially if you get HPHT stones without blue nuance. Will they be mind-clean enough for you?

I also have 1.5 ctw earrings from blue Nile that I carefully (and painstakingly) chose (as an upgrade) so I also thought I could use those as side stones and then get larger lab earrings.

This is my 3 stone with 1.81ct earth mined center and 1 ctw ideal cut lab grown side stones from a pair of James Allen earrings. They look fabulous and are a great match. They are all MRB too, and all diamonds…no one can tell the difference!

It’s gorgeous. Thanks for showing it to me. I’m sort of thinking if I do this, sink all the money into the sapphire and get lab side stones.


(Although my side stones on the lost ring are CBI so obviously are incredible. Damn. Damn damn damn)
