Do you prefer basket setting or V prongs?

Do you generally prefer a basket setting or V prong setting for round, 4 prong engagement ring settings? I have a basket setting with one tapered baguette on each side. My diamond is set on the medium/high side... not low in the basket. That's what I wanted. A friend recently had her setting redone because her ring was damaged. The jeweler used a basket head and she hated it and sent it back for a high V prong head. What are your thoughts? I also notice many settings being sold by online vendors use the v prong head. Are they more popular or desirable? Does it really only depend on the rest of the setting? Thanks for your thoughts!!

I like to keep my diamonds clean so a V prong setting is preferred for me.
Allows easy access for liquid detergent and a toothbrush while standing at the kitchen sink.

My Tiffany Fancy Yellow Diamond ring has a basket setting and it drives me crazy because the
pavilion is not easily accessible. Need to clean that ring in the ultrasonic cleaner which is more trouble in my opinion.

I like the basket setting better :) I have the V prong but dislike it... the basket is more 'rich' looking.. both have their benefits..

best regards.

For a solitaire, V prongs.
