Do you like this ring?

I am very interested in this ring. My solitaire is 1.30 and I would like the eternity bands to be between 1.5-2 each. I don't like the way the diamond is held between the two bands with the four diamond prongs or whatever they are. I would like something more discreet and probably not diamonds right there.

This would be both my wedding and ering.

Do you like this??

Yes, I like the idea, with the changes you propose for the prongs!

I do like the ring idea, but am curious to know what you mean by more discreet. I feel like with that design you are going to end up with somewhat visible prongs b/c they are the main thing supporting the stone....

I just don't like the way these prongs protrude. I mean more descreet in the sense that I want no emphases on them. I think I would be ok with regular prongs.

Just FYI. When I got my upgraded ring, I wanted to wear it alone. It is very wide with 3 rows of pave. I thought it would look fine without a band. It does look fine without a band, but I got so tired of hearing, "when's the big day" that I put a band with it. So, although right now you want a single ring, you may change your mind down the road. If you are against an upgrade later, make sure that this ring will allow a nice band next to it.

On the ring itself, those prongs are pretty awful. But, I think a finer prong may not offer the support that the center stone needs. I'd keep looking if I were you. A split shank may be a better option.

I like the idea but think it could be executed better. You could do a lot with this design and make it really special if you
had it custom made. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I absolutely love the split shank, but I do agree that the prongs are a little harsh. Perhaps another split shank with a more delicate prong?

I agree with everyone else that I like the idea of this setting but it isn't executed very well in this particular setting. Those prongs are HUGE!

My other concern would be size of the stones in the eternity bands--I would want 2-pointers set into the bands with a center stone of your size. I think bigger stones would take away from the stone. I wear a 2 ct cushion on an eternity band with 4 pointers, and I wish I had gone for 3 pointers, I think it would have been a better fit. This is totally a personal preference thing, though.

The second Blue Nile one is adorable. More discret like you want IMO.

Thank you all for your comments. Someone mentioned the fact that I might get asked when I'm getting married. That might bother me so I have to think about that.

Haven - explain 2 pointer etc. Does it mean that it is a 2 ct total ring?

I definitely like the split shank with the pave diamonds, but agree with others that the prongs are less than desirable.
