I got mine when I renewed my Ca. driver's license last yr. There are no extra fees for a real ID.

Yes

No.
Don't need.
Don't want.

I don't even know what a "real" ID means so I am guessing no. I use my driver's license as my ID.

Yes I went ahead and went to the DMV last summer to do mine. It will now expire in June on my birthday but the DMV remains closed so not sure how that will work. I had to pay $25 for a new license last year and will have to pay to renew it again this year. I knew that but just wanted to get it done and out the way.

Yes

Yes. MA is starting to require them for air travel and a regular license will no longer be acceptable. So DH and I both got them last year. Just one less thing we have to do.

Nope, we don't fly so no benefit for us to go to all that trouble to get one.

Yes, I got it when I renewed my license last year.
We occasionally fly, so I needed it.
I had to hunt down several documents that proved my name change.
Kind of a nightmare, but in the end it worked out.

I'll get it done with it's time to renew. There's extra fees in my state.

Not yet but we will need them for air travel so...soon.

Yes, I got mine when I renewed my license in January!

I need to renew my ID so I will get a "real" one, too.

No I have global entry.

Yes I got mine earlier this year. Hubby has to do his. I think it's a law by a certain date to have real ID.

Yes, got mine in California last year.

State of FL had it when I moved here so yes. No extra fee was involved.

Yes - I waited until December while DMV was not crowded. Took time at the DMV but now I have one.

No, just a passport.

I think by Oct. of 2020 you must show a real ID or a passport to fly commercial even within the US.

I have Global Entry for work and never travel without my passport anyway, so I'll wait until my DL expires to get 'real id' - I'm not opposed to it, but always suspicious of how these things will play out, relating to voting, travel, and other screening situations. Hopefully it won't be exploitative?

Yes. I got one because my license needed renewed. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with it, but WA drivers license is not going to be accepted even for air travel within the country. It cost extra and took a handful of things to confirm my identity, but seemed like a necessary thing given I was hoping to head to another concert in Las Vegas.

Will also be required to enter certain gov facilities, IIRC.

ETA - Oct 2021 is deadline; may be that it was pushed back a year due to Covid; not sure.

Yes, both my husband and I got ours last year when we had to renew.

Yes, I had to get replacement DL about 1.5 years ago when someone smashed my car window and stole my entire purse while I was at the gym.
