I don't know how happy I am with this ring. I feel like for some reason this ring looks smaller on me then it measures out to be? It just doesn't look like it is 3 carats on my fingers... Maybe it is just not flattering to my fingers? What do you ladies think? (You can be honest don't worry.) Again sorry about my chipped nails lol.

I think it looks HUGE!!! It looks amazing on your lovely long fingers! Wow - please post some more pics and tell us the details about it!
 
It really look like 3 cts honey! Don't forget some diamond cuts need more cts to look huge.

Thanks girls you guys are both so thoughtful and sweet. The thing about the marquise cut is that I have thick fingers at the base and I feel like both sides of my fingers look like they are squashing the diamond in between making it look tiny on me than it would normally... >_<
 
oh no, I do NOT see "TINY" when I look at that ring! I don't see squishy thick fingers either... it looks fantastic on you --- so now spill the details and post a few more pics! WE need our diamond fix, you know! :naughty:
 
Did you get the carat calculated? I know you were wondering what it is. Its s hard to guestimate on a marquise like that.
(not that size matters :naughty: )

I like it but It does look super 80's to me. Not that that is bad but the yellow gold plus marquise just says 80's in my mind. It looks at home on your hand, very nice! Do you not like the setting or the shape of the diamond?
 
Gorgeous - do u not like it bec it is tapered thinner?? do u want a wider set? it's gorgeous though. U don't see marquises coming and going anymore and they are very elegant! :love:
 
Yes, I like it! I think it's beautiful.

If you want even more size, add a halo. But I think it looks big.
 
I think it must be the shape making you feel like that. Since it is long and thin, it looks smaller but it doesn't look "small" to me. Not every stone shape is one that I feel looks flattering on my own hands, maybe you feel like that about this one?

This ring looks just perfect for your hand. :)) That being said, the only person whose opinion counts is you, of course. If you don't love it, change it. ::)
 
It seems like you are not happy with it, so I'd suggest changing it to a more modern setting. It's in a pretty classic setting right now, but maybe that's not your style?

Does your Grandmother mind if you reset it? I think it would look lovely in a very simple, East-West half-bezel (no halo), done in wg or platinum.
