Do you ever use your diamond as a mirror?

I have an EC, so I don’t have to try to get some fun reflections off my diamond! If it’s not flashing crazy light & rainbow colors at me, it’s reflecting everything around me...lol!

Glad I'm not the only one with terrible eyes. That's why I look at everything under the microscope!

And I agree, diamonds are terrible for this purpose, as they refract light. If I wanted a mirror I would wear a large piece of non-faceted quartz on my hand.

But then I would have to look at myself, so...

K guys. Best way to do this. In dim lighting. You have to have good eyes. Then ignore the rainbows. Then focus on one angle. And i swear to you, it’s like a spying device! You can see in every direction! And my stone is a 2.5

I only ask because after about 5 frozen crown & cokes one night this past weekend while sitting around the campfire, my buddy's wife looks at all of us and proceeds to tell us that if you stared at the flames long enough you could see a set of stairs leading up.

Who knew? Apparently the stairway to heaven is in flames. I never saw the stairs, even after I slammed back a few more as I really wanted to believe her.

Ok, I tried this with my ER and I can see the mirror reflection of things around at an angle through the top table facet, but can't see myself at all direct frontal. Is this what you meant?
