I have been really interested in the cut definition of older cut diamonds since the earlier thread on my new anniversary ring. I came across a lovely online ring which the seller named "old mine cut". To my eyes and the readings I have done here, it looks much more like a OEC than a OMC. Am I right? I think this is a lovely ring and some lucky person got it at an excellent price, but what cut is it??? Was it mislabeled in cut type?

This profile view shows the small table and high crown which I believe is a characteristic of OEC.
Also, after all shouldn''t OMC be cushion shape?

I would tend to agree. And for the same reason, old european cuts are much more round than old miners.

You tagged it correctly zhuzhu. These stones look like old european cuts, noted by their small tables and high crowns. From what I can see of this pictures all of the stones look oec. I''ll bet that baby is a beauty on the hand!!
