Our bed isn''t big enough for 300 lbs. of dog.
Hehe, my parents have their two St. Bernards up on the bed with them every night. Dice actually likes to inch my dad out until he gets fed up and kicks him off.

The worst part is that they JUST got a king size a few years ago...before that it was like 4 people in a double!!

Our kitties sleep with us sometimes. They usually wander during the night, though Trooper starts the night sleeping on my pillow. I love it!

Pepper likes to sleep at our feet and saffron likes to sleep on my pillow right on top of my head
20.gif

at least they keep us warm! saffron is still just a little guy though so occasionally ill get a nip on the face in the middle of the night which is annoying but i still love them and its worth it to put up with the little booger :)

The 45 pound dog sleeps on the floor in his bed. The 18 pound dog sleeps in the bed with us. WORD OF CAUTION... our middle of the night
31.gif
time no longer exists since the little dog joined us in the bed. Now it is run to the room, and close all the animals out when feeling

My dog knows when it''s

time and automatically gets off the bed and lays on the floor. At some point in the night he crawls back up. I just find it hysterical that he knows, like he''d rather just get down rather than be kicked off.

I''m jealous! If we just hug in the middle of the hallway he starts jumping up and down and wants to be included. Our solution is give him a meaty soup bone and run!

The dog is not allowed in bed, I laid down the law on that when he was pushing me out of my space, waking me up, and making our bed smell like dog. He now either sleeps on a dog bed at the food of our bed or downstairs on the sofa. Occasionally after I come out of the shower in the morning I discover he has joined FI in bed though, so I haven''t completely broken him of the habit yet.

Both of the cats are allowed to sleep on the bed, our boy Simon joins us almost every night but my girl Alice usually only joins me if FI is not there.

Yes, at first I wasn''t, but then they figured out how to open the door. So I started locking it, and they started peeling off the paint.

The cats won that battle.

If I had a dog, s/he wouldn''t be allowed in, but my cat totally is. Its a disturbance but the cuteness outweighs that!

Dogs should have their own bed.cats end up doing what they want ,but should stay off bed also.

No. We used to (when we only had one dog), but my 12 lb. dog HOGGED the bed, and I was always afraid that if I moved, I'd wake her and she'd want to play.

Now, she and our other pug sleep together in a large crate. They love it so much, they sleep in it during the day with the door open.

sadly, nope. DH is not a fan of dogs on furniture at all, especially in bed. She has her own beds (one in the living room and one in our bedroom) and sleeps wherever we are. Every now and then I end up taking a nap with her on her bed... DH thinks this is hilarious.

Lilly & Sven have their own room at night. (long story) (Sven is 23 pound Mainecoon & Lilly is 8 pound gray cat)

Sentra has a bed in the living room. She is about 65 pound dog and is a little stiff now that she is 12 years old. Couldn''t get on the bed if we let her.

Miglet is our 19 year old bombay. She is down to about 5 pounds. Until a couple of weeks ago, she ALWAYS slept in the bed with us. Now that she is sick we leave her on her own bed on the floor (and she is too weak to climb for now) so she can get to her bowls & cat box.
She loves to snuggle under the blankets. Or curl up on my pillow with me.
The problem (one of them) is that her bladder control isn''t what it used to be. (Ever had a cat pee on your head while you were sleeping?)
The other problem is that she is a little TOO interested when it is time for
31.gif
. And since she can climb, putting her on the floor does no good. She actually tried to "help" one morning.

I like animals. I am glad they like to snuggle with us but...
I don''t want to have any more animals in bed with us. Miglet would be heartbroken if we didn''t let her stay with us so she can stay. But never again. (okay, never again until they look at me with those big eyes)
B says that Miglet is "a special case" and that when she is no longer with us (19 years old is pretty old for a cat) there will NEVER be another animal in our bed. Sure. (He''s the big softie and they all know that if they want something all they have to do is give him THE EYES)

All 105 pounds of Louie often starts out at the foot of the bed, but then leaves because he''s too hot. We typically have at least one cat in bed all night. The little cat comes in the middle of the night , gets under the covers and drapes himself over my side.

I do when they''re freshly bathed and reasonably clean! They are so cute! I would let them sleep there all night if they didn''t snore!

Our 15 lb mini-schnauzer sleeps on his own bed in our bedroom. He''ll wait until we''re settled in our own beds before he goes to his. He''ll even wait at the top of the stairs until we come up.

Also, he growls when DH starts to snore. HAppy to say that DH doesn''t snore much anymore!

Guilty as charged.
haha! I still love your avatar pic!

Yes, he sleeps at the foot of the bed. He also has a pet bed in the bedroom and living room.

Of course!!! Trooper is family, we share the bed (he''s only 8 pounds of fluff anyway

).

As to FI''s, SO''s, and hubby'' who say no dogs in bed...I say "HA, the dog was here first buddy"

My two boxers allow my DH and I to sleep on the bed with them.

Ha ha ha ha Mochi. Yes, Mazie is the same way. She allows us to share our bed with her. Gotta love these dogs.

A cat between us, a cat at the foot of the bed on top of the covers, and a cat at the foot of the bed under the covers is usually how our nights go down :-) We love it.

During summer, they usually just sprawl out on top of the covers in direct line with the AC.

Gotta love them.

We only have a bunny, so no, he doesn't get to sleep in our bed
2.gif
Even if he wanted to (which he doesn't; he's not the biggest cuddler), we would roll over and squish the little guy (he's only 4lbs). And he'd probably eat my sheets out of boredom

When we get a dog, it will not be allowed to sleep in bed with us if we're both home. I'm not necessarily against pets in bed, but two people in a queen is enough; there just isn't room for a pet. But if one of us is away for some reason, the dog is certainly welcome to fill the empty half of the bed
1.gif

ETA: I realize some dogs need more consistency, so if it was better for the dog to only sleep on the floor, that would be fine too. But I know some dogs who are ok with being on the floor when asked, but welcome the opportunity to jump in bed if possible.

we eventually let our 20lb westie sleep with us on weekends which moved into weekdays too and then we just got rid of her crate because she never used it anymore. now she has a pillow in the living room and sleeps with us at night. she actually sleeps between our heads between our pillows the 'long' way...like a fluffy third pillow. sometimes she likes to go under the covers and wedge herself between greg's knees and sleep there in winter. i don't know how she can breathe!

during summers she gets too hot in bed, so if i wake up and she is panting (her panting will wake me up) i put her on the floor by the door to get the breeze, and she will stay there happily until morning. she is pretty easygoing.

Our spoiled min pin has been sleeping with us since day one.
She'll sleep on our arm to rest her head just like a person.
Sometimes we find her between our pillows so it's like one of us would be sleeping on three pillows.
She also likes to lay between us the long way so she'll take up just as much room as I will. Oftentimes she'll stretch her legs oh so far and I'll be forced to move over. HA!
She loves to burrow under the covers and we've come to automatically lift them up when she leans her head in. It's just second nature now.
I'm pregnant now and our boy kicks up a storm while I'm laying down, so if I'm spooning her and she feels the jabs, she'll move a little, another jab and she'll move some more and so on. It's so much fun.

Thats too cute lol!

I would like for our kitties to sleep with us, but I am terrified of DH rolling over on one or squishing one in his sleep.

To the people who sleep with pets: don''t you worry about this? Have you ever accidentally rolled over on a pet?

I had a dog that has since passed that slept at the foot of my bed. We plan to get a dog eventually and it will not be allowed on furniture. DH has severe allergies and is a bit of a germaphobe. It doesn''t bother me that if we have a dog that will be the rule, but I did enjoy waking up to Sadie on my feet every morning.

Do you have a picture of your little girl? What color is she? I just saw a 4 month old black and tan little girl and I wanted to steal her so badly, Darth wasn''t so into her though. I adore min pins as you can see by my avatar.

Our cat sleeps with us, usually at the foot of the bed. Sometimes he sleeps in his cat bed in the living room. If we sleep past his breakfast time, he''ll lick our eyelids and trample on our heads
20.gif

Ours do, oddly though; the bigger of the two (70 lbs) is the cuddler. he will smoosh himself under the blankets, in the oddest angles, but as long as he is near us, he''s happy. Our little one (15 lbs), he sleeps on my "spare" pillow at the top of my head, or he''ll wedge himself by my knees (in and out of the blankets) haha.

I have a hard time imagine them not sleeping with us. We both work, and although the dogs aren''t alone that long during the day (our schedule are kind of opposite), and even when I get a chance to come home at lunch and run them around etc, I STILL feel guilty. I hate the idea of them living their life in a crate, i know they sleep tons and tons, but i like them to know we''re there.

They are my family though, so I''m okay with sharing! (as long as we''re in charge, because they certainly have a way of hogging!)

Cats yes, dogs no.

<---- Lissey sleeps at the end of the bed, every night.
30.gif

Each of our cats has slept in my bed at one time or another but less so now that I share a bed with BF because he is a light sleeper and doesn''t appriciate being woken up by a kitty walking on his belly at 4am.

We have two cats and they sleep with us every night.

I am a dog person. Period.

My ex bf had a cat and even though we didn''t get along he slept atop MY PILLOW. He would purr and keep me awake. The worst was when I''d be in a deep sleep and it would fly fish my face with its tail. Just a gentle flick on my nose or really anywhere on my face and wake me up. That cat got tossed out of bed more than a few times.
