My husband does not want our dog (small to mid sized) anywhere near our bedroom or bed. I know alot of people who let their pets sleep with them. I was just curious what''s ''normal''
Yes, if both cats wanted to sleep on the bed, my husband and I would be thrilled. Only one does, though. . .the other is anti-social and will occasionally sit on our laps while we watch tv, but that is about it.

Yes! Ours does sometimes, that''s one reason why he can''t sleep with us...and also he''s over 100 pounds and there just isn''t enough room for him. He sleeps with my son in his bed, though.

Chicken sleeps with London. Both cats do too. Britta sometimes sleeps with me.

We love and spoil our 75 lb. Labrador to pieces but the one major rule is that she can''t be on the furniture including the bed. She has numerous very comfy dog beds around the house (last count 7!) and she''s happy to sleep in those day or night.

I have a 10 lb papillon and a 60 lb husky. My papillon sleeps on the bed with me but the husky gets too hot and prefers to sleep in the bathroom where the tile is the coolest!

Bella, my cousin''s 50 pound lab isn''t supposed to be on the furniture, but she thinks that she''s actually the size of our neighbor''s dogs, a chihuahua and a bichon frise. And as such, she now gets up in my lap when I''m sitting in the living room

She''s a persistent little thing and she''s managed to break down my cousin to the point that she gets to sleep with him regularly

ALL of our furbabies sleep in our bed at night. The pup sleeps between the two of us, She crawls under the blanket and sleeps underneath the covers all night, and at some point in the morning she pops her head out and rests it on DH''s pillow with him. One of our kitties sleeps on DH''s chest, and the other two sleep at my feet.

We have the coziest, warmest bed in the world.

Our pup snores all the time.
She also often barks/whimpers and flails her legs in her sleep, too. I think she''s chasing bunny rabbits in her dreams when she does that.

Our four cats sleep on our bed. More likely it feels like they are allowing us to sleep on their bed.

Amber used to sleep in my bed when I lived at home with my parents but since DH and I moved in together she''s not so keen on being in the bed-he''s in her spot

She has a huge bed and duvet of her own in our bedroom. Manolo comes and goes so for an hour or two he might stay in our bed and the rest of the time he''ll sleep in one of the other pet beds around the house.

Our bed isn''t big enough for 300 lbs. of dog. Besides, our boys get really hot when they are on the bed, so they''re happy for about a minute and a half and then they want down. They are definitely allowed in the room, though. We have a routine where we take them out for their last potty session and then they immediately go upstairs and take their places on either side of the bed. Byron sleeps on D''s side of the bed and Bo sleeps on my side of the bed.

I do have a friend who claims her bedroom is the ''fur-free zone'', so her dog isn''t allowed in the bedroom. She''s not really a ''dog'' person, though

Holy S! A 300 pound dog! He woulnd''t even fit in my HOUSE!

The 45 pound dog sleeps on the floor in his bed. The 18 pound dog sleeps in the bed with us. WORD OF CAUTION... our middle of the night

time no longer exists since the little dog joined us in the bed. Now it is run to the room, and close all the animals out when feeling

My dog knows when it''s

time and automatically gets off the bed and lays on the floor. At some point in the night he crawls back up. I just find it hysterical that he knows, like he''d rather just get down rather than be kicked off.

I''m jealous! If we just hug in the middle of the hallway he starts jumping up and down and wants to be included. Our solution is give him a meaty soup bone and run!
I''d be worried that the dog would "watch"!

I try. Really, I do. Henry- see avatar- is about 90 lbs of love. He likes to cuddle and friends always tell us that he is totally a cat stuck in a dogs body. He likes to spoon. LOL, I am serious. Alas, Henry the great big dog/cat snores like a lumberjack. We have woken up in the middle of the night laughing out loud at how darn loud Henry can be. He also has this awesome habit of hoggin the entire bed. He can seriously take up a king. The whole thing. He does the whole diagonal thing. I,apparently, sleep like a greater than symbol so doing the math, there isn''t room for him.

But...sometimes I let him cuddle for about 3 mins. Then he hears the ever famous "OFF" and he is on the floor.

He has started, recently, sleeping with his head UNDER the bed and we are woken up hearing muffled snores. It is more amusing than anything, it just makes him more like a real boy. :)

What''s this ALLOW business? Unless you sleep with your doors closed and the animals banished, I guarantee they''re probably sleeping in bed with you. (If they''re small enough not to wake you when they jump on the bed.

I speak from experience. Cats will seek the warmest spot to lie on. That would be me. Or more recently, the hubs.

Well, duh . . . don''t you? We all, dogs included, have nasal passages. We breathe, therefore, we snore.

our new guy snores, an groans. He''ll stretch and do the stretching groan. SO ANNOYING. He is also a serious bed hog, he pushes me all the way to the edge, using SO as a prop to push against

Yes, GUILTY! poochie sleeps with us. She''s a 9lb ball of fluff, so if anything she makes little warm spots on the bed when my feet get cold (like today! brrrr).

Daisy (22 lb. beagle) rarely snores. I think it''s because she''s still youngish (3) and I have kept her weight under control with diet and exercise. The summer before last my vet told me she could stand to lose a pound or two and since then I''ve taken that to heart. Beagles have a tendency to eat and eat and eat and become quite chunky as they age, and all sorts of health issues can arise. I plan on having a healthy, happy doggie for many years to come! And yes, she sleeps in my bed. I wouldn''t have it any other way.

We don''t have any dogs at the moment (sadly!), but growing up with dogs my whole life, I will never allow our future dog(s) to sleep in our bed. I love doggies to death (sometimes more than people
31.gif
) but I just think they should sleep on their own beds. I don''t want the fur, slobber, dirt, etc. in my bed!

Our future dog(s) will likely sleep on the floor right near our bed and that''s close enough for me. Even when I am at home and have our dog sleep in my room by my bed, she still manages to wake me up with her dogly ways, so I don''t think I''d get much sleep to speak of if she was actually IN the bed with me!

I''d be worried that the dog would ''watch''!

That would weird me out so much! Apparent a family member of mine lets their small dog stay in the room and one time the dog attacked her husband because she thought he was hurting my aunt. Yeah...weird

we once had a humongorific lab when I was younger who snored like crazy- he shook the whole floor! One of our cats does too- weird.

Our dalmatian Chloe thought she was a lap dog and often would compete with me for room on my measly twin bed. Add in my two cuddly cats and yes it definitely got cramped. Now that its just the two cats, our girl will curl up at the bottom of the bed our behind my calves, whereas our boy likes to cuddle right in front of you so you can pet him.

When FI and I move (unfortunately leaving the current furry family members behind b/c my sisters would kill me if we took them) we will be getting two ragdoll kitties, who will definitely be allowed on the bed

4 cats- and they act like the king sized bed is theirs. I often have to lock them out because one of them likes to nuzzle my hair alllllll niiiiight long. He then purrs super loud, digs his claws into my scalp and drools into my hair. But we usually let them sleep with us.

Lately, I''ve put a cat bed in our room on the floor and they seem to love that too. Sleeping with your S.O and 4 cats really isn''t fun when it''s actually time to sleep and not cuddle. :D

My poor cat is soooooo not wanting to be outside right now. I have never seen him this anxious and eager to try and get in the house. I haven''t seen him for days. When I pet him, I could feel a scab on his ear but it is dark outside and I couldn''t see it. It broke my heart to make him stay outside when I opened the screen door and he fully extended against the inner door trying to push it open...poor baby. I would let him in buy I so allergic that I can''t. Poor thing. I did give him special food though.

Chester sleeps in our room, in his own bed on the floor. If it were up to me, he''d sleep in the bed, but DH is adamantly against it. Every time DH goes out of town for an overnight trip, I let Chester up in the bed. He''s a good little cuddler and doesn''t move at all. Darn DH and not letting him up.

Yes, DF and they fart too!

DH and I have 2 cats and 2 dogs (small dogs: Jack Russel 15lbs and Min Pin 20lbs).
We have 1 cat and 1 dog that sleep in the bed (Cal King) and 1 dog and 1 cat sleep on the floor in the bedroom (in their own beds).

There actually is room for all of them to sleep on the bed

Well, Doggers has his own bed. Most of the time, he sleeps in it. Sometimes, he sleeps out in the dining room. His MO is to wait until we''re in bed, asleep, then hop on and curl up against one of us during the night. Usually, me. Recently, he has hopped on every night; might be due to the change in weather; when it''s hot, he''ll sleep in his own bed. He''s a leg type of guy. I''ve only woken up when he''s curled up in between my legs. I think he likes having some kind of wall to snuggle up to; if I move, he''ll move to lay right beside me.
