Do these pearls look like the correct size? 7.5mm - 8mm?

Hi everyone I recently bought a Freshadama necklace from PP. The size is supposed to be 7.5mm - 8mm but when it arrived it looked a lot smaller than what I was expecting it to be.

Is the 7.5mm - 8mm supposed to be the diameter of the pearl or the circumference? Does this look like the correct size? It’s my first time buying pearl so apologies if this is a silly question. Thank you!

You can't acquire an exact measurement with a ruler, instead, get a caliper. Here's an example of mine using a ruler.

A caliper is best. However in this photo the pearl is not being measured from the 0. That is why it appears to be smaller. Looking at other pearls along the markings, the size appears to be correct for what you purchased.

Diameter. And Just so you know, drilled pearls are measured perpendicular to the drill hole. And yes, a caliper is needed for accurate measuring.

Even so, they look like the right size. Look at the second whole pearl on the right, which starts at the 6.5 mark to between the 7.2 / 7.3 mark.

I must say this thread reminds me to always buy one size up from what i think i want

As most above mentioned - it's almost impossible to get a clear measurement from a ruler. If you are concerned just pop into a jeweller and ask for a measurement . I'm sure most would do it for you . And try on a few other sizes to see if you're happy with perhaps a larger size.
