Do these look like carre-cut stones?

I'm a fan of round diamonds so I've had this ring for years and only recently was trying to figure out what to do with it b/c it doesn't fit my fingers and I was thinking it'd be nice to take the stones out and put them into some sort of setting that is more my style and it was brought to my attention that these might be carre-cut stones and am hoping the experts on such cuts can chime in.

Thanks.

ETA - it's hard to see from the photo, but there is a distinctive X when I look at the stone face down through my loop.

Looks like it to me!

Yes, to my eyes they look like Carre cuts..., they have pointy corners right? (hard to notice in the image).

Yes, the corners are very sharp & pointy. I'm surprised they held up so well.

I'm trying to figure out an appropriate setting.

Those also look like older cuts (e.g. higher crown- smaller table).
It would be nice in a millegrain closed setting just like they used to in the old days of ArtDeco :-)

yes or simply square cut. the different between carre and asscher or emerald is obviously not clipped corners. these look quite nice with high crowns --at least thats what i get from the photo.

Yeah, the crowns do look higher than other diamonds I have that are round & slightly larger. A jeweler told me to just have the ring sized up two sizes and wear it as is, but it's a bit wonky. It appears it originally was a gold band with just the citrine center stone and later the two diamonds were soldered onto the band and they're not lined up exactly so this will always bug me...I was considering making the diamonds into little studs, but now I'll look another route and have to look for something that will work for the three stones together.
