I''ve been trying to stay in a pretty strict budget and I think I''ve found a couple of diamonds that have potential.

Please tell me what you think. I have emailed them asking for pictures and if they are truly eye clean.

I really just want to get the most fire and sparkle for my money. I would love to have 1ct or over, but with my budget I know I have to sacrifice size for cut. Do you think these are good contenders?

Thanks for your imput!

Change it to link for easier checking.

Can''t really tell much until I see the angles of the crown and pavilion. Leaning towards #1 though, at least better chance of it falling into the overlap region of AGS/GIA.

Can you also get the following info please?

Crown and pavilion angles
Diameter measurements

Then we can go from there. If you want extra size, have you considered lowering the colour a bit more to encompass I or J colour ( GIA/ AGS graded)? These grades will still look white and could allow you to go a bit larger.

Thank you very much for fixing the links for me!

I did email him asking for more details on them. I did look at I color stones, and they were about the same price. I didn't include J -color in my search, I'll go back and see what I can find. Thanks!

ETA-what is an "other" cut. Instead of VG, G, etc. it says Other.

Sorry, where does it say '' other''?

The only thing I can think of is it could be a cut grade - for example I see Ideal, VG, Good so it could mean fair at a guess depending on Excel''s cut ranking.

See, that''s what I Was thinking too, but some other stones of the same ct weight and color were the same price and their cut was labeled as Very Good. I emailed Barry, I can''t wait to hear back from him.

Stone-cold- I LOVE those JA diamonds! Thank you so much for looking for me! I am going to email him too. One of them looked like it was a little cloudy, but it could be my screen. Toddler fingerprints and all

Let us know what Barry says as it will be useful to know in case this crops up again!

Here is one for consideration. It looks good by the numbers. JA doesn't have an Idealscope yet but if it interests you, you could request one.

0.81ct I VS2

So it''s pretty much an assurance that if you go with the best cut and a decent clarity and a near colorless color, it should be a sparkler right?

I like the one you picked Swingirl. Plus JA doesn''t do FL sales tax, bonus for me!

Give JA a call and ask them about the stone and their opinion. It's the cut that will make a stone sparkle. Clarity rarely makes a difference unless it's really really bad, and color is just personal preference. You can have a very beautiful sparkly M (I purchased one and it's gorgeous although warm in color).

There have been many happy JA customers from PS but it seems like all vendors are busy around Valentine's Day so call rather than email.
