Do jewelers have any better data to work with than we do at Pricescope?

I mean....they probably have more databases to work with (not that 50,000 or so options is anything to shake a stick at), beyond what''s presented here on the Quick Search, and they can pick up the phone and talk to the supplier, and ask them questions (maybe/maybe not getting more info in the process). But, in terms of their initial ability to screen info, I''m guessing they have the same constraints that we do. In fact, I don''t know that they even have access to as finely dividing a resource as the Price Stats database is as presented here, if they are searching for something that might be something just short of ideal.

So, if we want to be aware of what resources jewelers standardly can reference, are there any qualitatively enhanced resources they would have that we don''t already have here on Pricescope?

Ira- I believe a great deal of the diamonds cut do not get listed on any database.
Sure, the databases on PS and Polygon are large- but that does not mean they represent all the diamonds being cut- or even close to it.

We have Rappnet and Idex along with Polygon which list diamonds. We also have use of dealers websites that do not allow their list to be used in the database you see here. We also get tons of print material on available diamonds. Some of the more progressive dealers email us when they have special pieces that they know we use. Telemarketing is rampant and annoying. But, I think for the most part you get the information you need to make most decisions.
