Do I need to get a bigger size if stacking?

I have a 1.97 set in a Tiffany style solitaire, next to that I have a spacer band. I am looking at a ruby and diamond band to put next to the spacer, it''s about 3-4mm wide. Should I get that band in a larger size, I''ve never stacked rings before ?

My ering is a size 5. It would have been a 4.5 if BG would have gotten his way. I wear it by itself. I have several stacking bands that I wear when I dont want to wear my ering. All of my stackers are size 6. IMHO when you start to get width you need to go bigger.

A little bigger for wider rings (or a wider arrangement of rings on the finger), as ponder said.



My "proper" size at this point is a 3.5. I'm getting my Ering and WB in a 4.25 so they're never tight, even after I add an anniversary band sometime down the line.

I just want to warn you that if the sizing is too different the larger band will stick out more on the sides - which might not bother you, but drives me crazy! My er 4.25 and my stackers are all 4.5 just that little difference allows for the thicker portion of the finger w/o a visual difference on the sides (and I sometimes stack 5 rings at a time).
