I have a new three stone ring that I got for my anniversary this year. The shank has three sided micro pave. I was at the jewelers today and he got in the matching wedding band. It is a very thin 3/4 eternity style band that also has three sided micro pave. Normally I just like to wear one ring, but I am tempted by this because it was so pretty and of course because it matches my three stone ring. Just wanted opinions. Do I really need to add a band to this and won''t the diamonds on the sides of the two rings scratch each other?

This picture shows the micro pave on the sides of the shank.

Leon Mege makes a lot of 3 sided pave bands and recommends not wearing a wedding band on the same hand b/c of the possible damage. When I was looking into having him do my ring he suggested a ring for my right hand or if I did wear a wedding band on the same hand only doing it for special occasions. i think you ring is substantial and pretty enough to wear on it''s own.

No you dont need one, that ring is stunning and fits your hand very nicely. If you want one that is another thing entirely. I think it is lovely but perhapsa two sided pave? Or wearing it as a RHR.

Sundial: first of all thank you so much for posting your ring again...I LOVE your ring!! I don''t think you need a wedding band since your ring can stand alone. However if there are days that you don''t want to wear the three-stone ring, it might be nice to have a wedding band to wear. Like mrssalvo said three-sided pave rubbing against three-sided pave can possible damage the rings.

I think it would look wonderful with the matching band! I know people wear 3 stones on their left hands without a wedding band, but I prefer the look with a narrow wedding band. The matching band to yours would be wonderful, but you don''t want the two rings to scratch each other. Do they make the matching band without the pave on the one side? That would be ideal.

Here''s a pic of a 2 sided band. it''s jadeleaves'' ring

I appreciate the input. If the band were two sided pave like the one you posted that would be perfect, but this one is three sided and I am afraid of scratching the diamonds. I also think this narrow band, while beautiful, is too thin to wear on its own. I guess I''ll pass on this. I think I was feeling like I should get it just because it matches my ring.

First, your ring is gorgeous! The setting is beautiful.

I recently received a three-stone ring, and I guess it''s just a matter of preference. I don''t particularly care for the look of a wedding ring with a three stone ring unless the side stones are much smaller in comparison to the center stone, ie, they are more accent stones. If the three stones are close in size, then I think it looks better without the band.

*Your* ring is stunning all by itself!

Thank you. Laralooblue when you are going to post pictures for us of YOUR three stone ring? Have I missed them???

I wish I could, but we don''t own a digital camera! It''s getting downright embarrassing at this point, not owning one.

Maybe for Christmas...

It''s a platinum, antique style pavé setting by Sheldon Speyer, purchased from GOG. The best I can do is the photo from the web site, which isn''t good.

That ring is just gorgeous! You are going to have to beg, borrow, or steal a camera so we can see a hand shot!!!

I agree, can you borrow one. i would love to see a real life picture of your ring. I love sheldon speyer pieces

You guys are too kind! I''ll see if I can get my hands on one tomorrow.

I actually tried to take pics the old fashion way, but they were terrible.
