Wedding Do/Did your linens hit the floor??

My mom and myself are having this discussion on whether or not the table linens should hit the floor?? So did yours hit the floor?? She thinks if they hit the floor then someone who is not so graceful (ie my stepdad) would probably get the chair stuck on the linens if it hit the floor...I dont really see this.. But i dunno.. the tables are 60" rounds...would a 108" linen be okay?? Thats about 12" from the floor.. what do you think??? Oh and I plan on having chivari chairs... and the floor is white... so its not a hideous floor or anything..THanks!!!

I don''t think they should hit the floor, just for safety reasons. Chair legs, people''s feet... I picture a lot of tripping. But I''m not sure how 12" from the floor would look. I''m nowhere near table linens in my planning yet, but I guess I just normally picture one that falls off the table about 12" and that''s it - just brushes people''s laps when they sit down.

Most of the time they are about an inch off of the floor, and the overlay can be shorter (if you have an overlay). Most tables are not attractive underneath (if you have those round ones) so you need that extra fabric to hide it. You would see everything under it otherwise.
