I've never had a true "traditional" solitaire setting. My engagement ring (back in 1985) had a few small side diamonds on the shoulders. My mom got engaged in the 1940's and had a solitaire platinum setting with a transitional diamond. That diamond was lost many decades ago.
I have had many styles of rings over the years - but never really felt content with any of them.
Years ago, I made a few purchases of "August Vintage" moissanites from Jonathan, and I decided to contact him for the transitional lab diamond. I was looking for simplicity in the setting and went with the CvB Jovyn w/ tab prongs in platinum.
I know I made the right decision with this ring- once I put it on my finger, it felt like it had been mine forever.

The transitional lab diamond is GIA 2.57 carat, VS1 G
