Hi there, this is related to settings I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post in.

I'm wondering if anyone here has used Jon's master bench?

How do you like the finished product? Is it worth it over the Stuller option? Would love to see your photos and videos if you have any to share.

And it looks beautiful @muesli !

Do you have a particular stuller setting you were looking at @teddycake ? Maybe someone has the one you would be interested in.

It's in platinum and I love it! Have no experience with Stuller so can't compare unfortunately.

Yay! Thank you for sharing! This is beautiful!

Nope, no particular stuller in mind. Was honestly just more curious about the quality of his master bench.

Bumping this to see if there are more rings from DG made by various benches. In the process of getting quotes from his different options and we were hoping to use the master bench, but it is way over our budget for a two-tone solitaire with no pavé (it was over $2700). We thought that was very expensive, but don't have any reference to compare to.

Very curious to see if anyone has had their ring done by the Stuller bench from Jon's CADs and what the finish looked like.

Hi, mine was not done by the master bench, so I assume it was the Stuller bench then? This was from a CAD from Jon. I thought the finish was great, looked absolutely fine to me. It is platinum. However, the prongs ended up being way too thin for me for daily wear and I had my jeweler switch the head out to something sturdier. I knocked the prongs loose three times in six months. I am not too hard on my hands but this was just accidentally knocking it against the wall while gesturing, etc. I am attaching pictures of how it looked before I got the head redone and then with the new head. Aesthetically, I had no issues with it. 872EBE3A-B5AB-48DC-9516-90B1F073439E.jpeg

I see teeeeny tiny claw prongs, which Jon has said one of his local benches has to do as finishing. Thanks for posting!

This setting was done by Distinctive Gem's master bench. I'm happy with the setting. Everything is polished nicely and is very secure.

There was an issue with the matching baguettes, so Jon sent over his matching pairs and allowed them to choose. I think one is slightly more tapered, but you have to look closely to see it. Communication with the bench through Jon was timely and excellent. I will definitely use Distinctive Gem and his master bench again, but I will probably pick my own matching pair next time.
