Has anyone out there ever negotiated prices with SuperbCert, Good Old Gold, NiceIce, or Whiteflash? I just want to know if the prices on the websites are 'final' or if there's a little room to play.

I don't think any of these sellers will come on here and openly state they will haggle for the price because then everyone will try to negotiate rather than take the listed price.

Some will say that their profit margins are too low "single digits" that they will not be able to come down on their prices.

From my buying experiences at retail stores and online alike, I think there is always room to haggle. Find a diamond or two that you are interested in and see what they can do for you. Hey, it can't hurt to ask! If a diamond has been sitting in their inventory a little too long, they might come down to move it off their shelf (or should I say out of their safe

) But do expect to pay cash (money transfer) for the diamond. No one is going to come down if you are looking to pay with a credit card.

I was just wondering if anyone out there has been able to get any sort of price break from these vendors.

Just ask the vendors. They'll be happy to tell you if they have any room to move on a particular stone you're serious about.

most of the vendors work on very little profit that it would be very difficult for them to do anything with the price.
I would think your best bet is to shop and compare between different websites and see who gives you the best deal!!!
Most of the vendors have the same stones on their sites ,and that could work to your advantage!!

good luck

Diamondsman, maybe you can help me out here. I've been doing exactly what your say, but the guy who has the cheapest price does not seem to be able to come up with the stone! He keeps telling me that the cutter shipped him the stone by registered mail, and it's stuck in transit. What he doesn't know, is that I'm talking to another "broker" who claims he has the stone in his possession, but he is higher priced, and won't negotiate. The dealer sent me an email this morning asking me to make up my mind, or the diamond will be sold somewhere else.
When I look up diamonds on the PS engine, the same stone seems to be in many inventories. WHO OWNS THESE DIAMONDS?
How do I get to talk to someone who actually has the diamond and can give me a good price?

Cheers,
David

skibum,
I had a similar experience after i did a search on pricescope. It was a frustrating time for me. I decided to deal only with the companies who own the diamonds they list or can physically describe the stones to me

I wish there was some way of knowing who owns their inventory, and who is just a broker amongst many selling someone else's diamond. Maybe I can ask all those who own their diamonds to raise their hand? It will cut down on my phone bill.

Cheers,
David

I'm waiting to see the hands.....

Well, it's been about a full 24 hours and I only see one (kinda) hand being raised. Thank you Linda.

I guess that answers that question.

Cheers,
David
