Hello pricescope,
I embarked on the journey for the perfect diamond and never expected it to be this difficult. Thanks to this forum, I''ve learned a lot about stones.

I think I''ve found a good gem and I hope I can count on your advice:
Round Brilliant
1.32ct
H
VS1
60.9% depth,
55% table,
34.1 crown angle,
40.9 pavilion angle
Polish Ideal
Symmetry Ideal
Fluo: Neg.
$9000

What do you think? Good stone for the price? Anything else I should look for?

Thanks,

Goingnuts

ps Also, is there any way to derive the crown and pav angles off the depth and table percentages? With my basic trig know-how, it doesn''t seem possible.

Looks great

You have the angles - why calculate them?
Run it through the cut adviser and you will get a low good score - but if you are buying on-line consider using one of the appraisers - link at the top to the right.

A H VS2, H&S, 1.3cts gets a quote of $7500 and not many close choices appear.

Thank you, CutNut and Valeria. I wonder if I'm overpaying for well- proportioned stone? Any others with price information for comparison?

Thanks

The numbers look pretty good, what does the plotting diagram look like? Regarding your question pertaining to price, the best approach is to run a comparison here on PS and taking a good look at the characteristics of each stone to determine if they are actually valid "comps" or just similar...

On the diagram, there is one external blemish at the 11 o'clock position on the underside. I figured a prong could easily hide that. Other than that ... there may be a rod near the culet. Real difficult to spot, will have to inspect the stone when it arrives.

Which brings me to another point. Anything of particular concern with rods or external blemishes?

Thanks!

This sounds like an desirable arangement ! teh thing on the girdle will become invisible when set, and no matter what or where the other thing ("feather"?) is, there is no room for any blatant splotch into the VS1 grade
