Difference btw Mark Morrell's Flame & Classics Torchiere?

Hello everyone. I'm trying to decide on Mark Morrell's flame setting, or classic torchiere for my engagement ring.

1) Are the bands different? I do not want a band that tapers towards the crown and diamond, But rather a band that is the same width all the way around.

2) It's quite difficult to tell from photos, but are the crowns different?

Flame apppears to have a non-tapered shank. I think the head is more cup shaped on the Flame and a little less so on the Torchiere which makes it appear that the Torchiere head sits slightly higher. Obviously you can ask MM this, but that is what it looks like to me. My favorite is the petite Torchiere! They are all beautiful settings!

Thank you very much for your input! I found a video of the flame on GOG (http://vimeo.com/1042842) when depicts your description. I know understand what you mean when you say the crown of the torchiere is set higher.

I'm sure he'll be able to design the classic torchiere with a non tapered shank..how exciting

I'm a new dentist and am not accustomed to wearing rings with a projecting stones/diamonds under my gloves. From your experiences/knowledge, do you think the height of the flame vs the torchiere would make a difference in wearing gloves daily?
