Difference between these two GCAL 8x diamonds?

Hello, ozziegt!
Color grade and material quality differences are probably the biggest factors for the pricing difference.

Can you explain further what you mean by "material quality differences"?

Also, what are your thoughts on the first one? Is there anything that stands out as a reason to pick something else? Thanks for your help and advice!

The G color appears to have inferior crystal/material quality that the finished diamond was cut and polished from....appears far more grainy than the E color. You can see it easiest in the arrows while viewing the fire videos.

Ah yes, I can see it. Thanks! It will help me select a better one. Will that be noticeable when looking at the diamond with the naked eye?

This one looks clearer than both of them, but it's slightly smaller. Would appreciate it if you could take a quick look. Last one for today I promise. :)

The CVD crystal quality does appear better than the others with this one.

Thoughts on a GIA graded clean HPHT sporting equally amazing proportions and cut precision as any GCAL 8X?

Have them price match:

Another example:

I don't care if it's IGI, GCAL or GIA - it's just easy for me as a layman to evaluate GCAL compared to GIA or IGI. I'm an engineer so maybe I am drawn to all the data that GCAL provides. :)

I noticed those are both D colored diamonds. I'm willing to go with a F, or even G color to save some money.

What's your methodology for finding these recommendations?

Wow that is a huge price difference between Adiamor and the other vendor! :-o

It looks like all the HPHT diamonds on loosegrowndiamond are D and E color - is that just a characteristic of HPHT diamonds that they are all colorless?

Engineer as well!
I stick to AGS Triple Zero criteria as best as I can when looking at diamonds to find diamonds that have the best proportions and angles, the best cut precision, and the best optics (along with high material quality).

Indeed...and most of these online sellers are all pulling from the same distribution inventory feeds.

Most HPHT nowadays are in the colorless range, but there are some out there down into the I-J-K realm without being a boron-doped Type IIb blue nuance.

Well, I put in a price match request for the 2.83 that you recommended. I chose that one over the 2.84 because the GIA report certifies it as a H&A.

One more question, the 2.83 GIA report says the growth method is "HPHT, CVD" - does that mean it's also CVD?

No, they (GIA) merely state the two different growth methods: HPHT and CVD.
They used to specify which growth method was utilized per diamond, but no longer do...instead they now list both as more of an info blurb rather than a listing which one as actual specification applicable to the specific diamond.
Those are both HPHT.

Ordered! Hoping it meets my expectations :))

Awesome - hoping so, as well...please let us know what you think once you get it!

Anything I should check when I receive it?

Just the "wow factor" in different lighting conditions...it'll likely look the best under overhead lighting with numerous light sources like a large department store, restaurant, or moderate sized kitchen where it'll bring out the sparkle/fire.

It came in today! Looks pretty good! As usual, hard to get a good representation on video

Dang...that looks amazingly fiery!
