Asscherisme, I started my diet / life style change September 1st, 2006. I am very proud of myself and am so excited how much it has changed my life. I am attaching a serious of photos of me along the way.

Thank you Kimi for the kind words about me; I really appreciate it.

Musey... I have been working the Weight Watchers program. My calorie intake is based on a goal of losing 1 to 2 pounds per week. Which definitely requires more than 1200 calories daily. Weight Watchers is all about the "slow and steady wins the race" philosophy.

I started at 185 lbs and I am 5''8" with medium bone structure. I am now at 165 lbs and 10 lbs away from my second goal. My first goal was reach my pre-pregnancy-#2 weight. My second goal is reach my pre-pregnancy-#1 weight. Then I would like to go for a extra 5 or 10 to reach my pre-thinking-about-pregnancy weight. LOL!!!!!

Weight Watchers has really taught me about moderation... even with exercise. I used to be of the mindset that if I cannot get to the gym for at least an hour, why bother. But, I have two children, a house, a husband, and a part-time job so exercise has to be a part of my life without everything revolving around whether I get to the gym. If I can kick a soccer ball around with my son for a 1/2 hour or take a brisk 1/2 hour walk with a friend, I consider myself active. And that attitude has paid off. I have shed 20 pounds because of my change in attitude.

800 to 1000 cals seems low to me. Even for someone is very petite like your friend. And especially is she is active.

Thanks, Joolskie! I appreciate it. Congratulations on loosing 20 pounds; you are doing great! I like your attitude as well and I think it''s great you work in exercise when you can; I don''t have any children but I am like you in the rest of your busy life and I figure just walking extra steps on the way to the restroom at one of my jobs helps.

Musey, I also find if I don''t eat my 1200 calories I am hungry for DAYS and if I am not loosing increasing my calories to about 1400 for a day or two seems to jump start my weight loss again.

Marcy, I am in awe! Great photos, thanks for sharing. You look great! I have been struggling with some stubborn pounds left over from my pregnancies, and seeing how much you have lost is so inspiring!!

Thanks, asscherisme. I still freak myself out when I look in the mirror. Good luck with your diet.

I've got to chime in here since people are saying 1000 cal seems low and that their acqaintances feel tired, etc. I think I posted here earlier that I dropped down to 1000 cal/day and lost 15 pounds. The way I see it-- your body runs on a homeostasis, and you've got to drop enough to be significant, otherwise your body will just lower it's metabolism to maintain your weight. This is why dieting is so hard! Yes, I dropped down to 1000 cal, but everyone eats different calories per day and 1000 was only 400 less than my average. If I aimed for all of your "1200-1500 cal", I wouldn't lost any weight, or even gain! Yes, I was tired, but I kept active. Nobody should expect to be able to run a marathon while dieting. Dieting isn't fun, but I got it over with quickly!
