No, not in 2000 or 2004. I actually cried when he was re-elected.
I did as well!
i felt physically ill when he was re-elected.....and spent 4 years disgusted and depressed after that.

no matter how much you hate Bush he kept America safe for 7 yrs.

btw; Reagan will always be my favorite President but i didn't vote back then.

In 04, I went to a very liberal college in a very conservative city and they tried to disenfranchise us from the vote. Because of that, I waited 4 1/2 hours in line to vote against Bush, but I was so determined to do it that I didn''t have any second thoughts about it.

ha. no.

I don''t drink kool-aid.

A simple ''no'' would do.

The implication here is that anyone who chose not to vote for John Kerry is a mindless follower.

Nice that you are lumping millions into that category.

LOL, Beebrisk!

NO!

better?

I neither said that I voted for Kerry, nor that people who didn''t were ''mindless followers''. I just wasn''t buying what GWB was selling (which proved to be wise). Plus, it was a general response, meant in a very light and offhand manner.

Sorry it bothered you. (really!)

Okay...really!

Yay! I''m really not the snarky type... more of the "I will say anything to entertain myself or others" type. Thank you for your magnanimousness!

Forgive me for asking this (rack it up to two darvocet and three glasses of wine thanks to having a wisdom tooth yanked right out of my head about 4 hous ago) but why are we talking about whom we voted for four years ago?

Or...America''s been safe for the past 7 years DESPITE Bush being the president.

To answer your question -- no, I didn''t vote for Bush and I''m very proud of that.

Why exactly are you asking this?

By ignoring intelligence about a 9/11 style attack? I think not. A democrat would have been excoriated and eaten alive for such a transgression!

don''t forget the 9/11 attack was planned under the Clinton admin. Clinton had his chance to kill Bin Ladin.

Bush has had many years with Bin Laden as Public enemy #1, and still no dice. And McCain apparently knows how to get him, but is keeping it to himself, lol. Suffice to say we were attacked under Bush, and more instability has been introduced under his regime. I feel less safe because of the war than I did because of the 9/11 attack. War crimes anyone?

The economy is in the crapper and all DF can say about Bush is that he did a good job keeping us safe for 7 years? Hilarious!

I guess we should forget about that one year where he didn't keep us safe...and did anyone really believe that we wouldn't be attacked by terrorists (real ones, not Bill Ayers!) at any moment in the Bush administration? If anything, I thought we were more susceptible, what with the Iraq war pissing off a whole new group of people and turning more countries against us.

But let's not forget something else we're not safe from: losing our jobs is the first thing that comes to mind!

Bush is an idiot and a rube. I am WAY too smart to have voted for him!

And also don''t forget that your precious Reagan-who-can-do-no-wrong, TRAINED AND FUNDED Bin Laden. Back then, when they were our best buds and the CIA thought they were in our back pocket, they were "freedom fighters". So Clinton maybe didn''t "get" what Reagan irresponsibly created. **shrug** Plenty of finger-pointing to go around, eh DF??

Was this the whole point of this thread, DF? To instigate more fights and disagreements about politics? Why? Haven't you had enough over the past few months? Didn't the long thread about animosity in this forum mean anything to you? Apparently not.

i always say the economy goes in cycles no matter WHO''s in office.

No way!

In fact, I would argue that the style of leadership both Bush had during their presidency was one of the major reasons that 9/11 happened.

Bush kept us safe? That is just a wishful interpretation.

Don''t be absurd, nearly the entire 9/11 scheme was devised and carried out under the Clinton Presidency. The attack itself was, what, 8 months into Bush''s first term?

It''s Americans they hate, not just the current or past President.

Halleluja!!! You took the words out of my mouth!

So MANY of the (middle eastern) leaders who are now being called terrorists by the US government have worked for the CIA, one example, Khomeini was unleashed on Iran like a dog -by who? the US government. There''s sooo much we aren''t being told

It is American policy that they hate, not American people.

They hate Western Society. Period. And they see America as the embodiment of all that is wrong.

When they flew airplanes into the twin towers, they were not attacking "policy". They were attacking people, private enterprise, and a Western way of life.

heh. Why stop at Reagan? Carter had a part too.

Rank can you please back up your statement with proof that is not policy related ?
