Has anyone else had any long term problems/side effects after two doses of the AZ vaccine that cannot be explained?

Not sure if this question is appropriate, apologies if not, but I would like to know if anyone has, like me, had health issues several months after their second jab.

My husband and parents are absolutely fine. My parents are more than fine. They had Covid with no symptoms and have recovered with no symptoms.

My best friend's husband: Absolute disaster with first dose of AZ.

Basically after the first dose it felt like he had full on never ending Covid (minus the cough). He went to many many many doctors until finally an immunologist confirmed that the vaccine must have caused a cytokine storm in him.

He reacts very badly to all the vaccines though but the AZ one dose took him out for 3 months. He's still generally very lethargic. But he's pretty bad with all the vaccines. Pfizer took him out for 2 weeks and Moderna has taken him out right now.

My nieces got their boosters last week IIRC. The oldest one had a fever for two days. The younger one felt under the weather for about a day with a fever. Not a big deal.

When my parents got their boosters my dad had no symptoms (and I am sure he didn't produce antibodies either...he is almost 88 so his immune system might not be up to par). My mom was under the weather for a few days. Her immune system is also not working but it goes in the opposite direction. She is on immune suppressing medications.

Greg had no symptoms but a sore arm after his booster. He produced no antibodies.
I had a fever for about a day or so.

I don't know of anyone who has had health issues months after their vaccines but my sister in law got Covid over the holidays and the whole family has recovered but her. She has lingering effects. Long Covid perhaps. I think long Covid is a big threat to anyone who gets Covid. I am sorry you are experiencing health issues since your second dose @seafarm and I hope you recover fully.

Thank you Missy and Mellowyellow.

Mellowyellow, I hope your friends husband is feeling better soon.

I have been suffering with headaches for several months now, severe for the past few weeks. I have never suffered from migraines nor headaches like these, ever.

I have never taken pain killers on a regular basis, one pack (24) would last me more than a year or even two. I’m currently taking them morning and night (the headaches are waking me through the night), and often during the day. Paracetamol does not work, I’m taking Ibuprofen as recommended by the eye specialist.

I had skin rashes (on face) after the first vaccination (Astra Zeneca) and milder headaches. Stronger headaches after the second vaccination, then around three months after my second vaccination severe headaches and vision loss in one eye.

Vision Loss was temporary thankfully and has only happened twice, but it was very concerning.

My GP referred me to an Ophthalmic Surgeon for the vision loss. I have had blood tests for inflammation markers, a brain scan (MRI) and a Carotid Doppler to check for blood flow and blockages in the carotid artery.

Tests have shown nothing….nada, zip, zilch!

Next stop is the neurologist, but I can’t get an appointment until late April (I’m down for a cancellation though, so fingers crossed).

I am fit (I exercise 5/6 x per week), healthy, eat well and am a healthy weight. No one else in my family has had any side effects after the vaccine (AZ or Pfizer), including my 88 yo father. I was also basically bed bound for 2-3 days after each vaccination.

The thing is I am due for my booster and I’m not sure what to do. I’d like to wait until I have seen the neurologist but that is almost three months away.

Anyway, thought I’d share in case anyone else out there is suffering as well, and to let them know they’re not alone.

That's concerning and I am very sorry you are going through this. If this were me I probably would skip the booster til I got an evaluation by the neurologist. The vision loss is especially worrisome and I wouldn't want to risk another incident. Of course it could have nothing to do with the vaccine but since there are no answers yet I wouldn't want to take that chance. Sending well wishes your way.

I have a history of migraines with visual auras that started in my 50's - I ususally get 2 migraines a month. I have seen many neurologists that have offered limited help, all in the form of medications if I choose to take them. I have had the Pfizer vaccinations (x2) and Pfizer booster. After each of the shots they triggered migraines within a day, and the frequency would be about every couple of days for about 2+ months. I have also heard of other people that have never had headaches all of a sudden suffering with migraines and headaches after their shots. This worries me and I don't know if I will get another booster.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Sending positive, healing vibes your way, and praying you are better soon.

I'm in a similar situation. I opted for the 2 Moderna vaccines. I had some issues after the first dose that were definitely strange. I contacted my primary doctor with my concerns, and he recommended that I get bloodwork to check my antibody levels before getting my second dose. I didn't make any, so he strongly recommended I get the second vaccine on time. I agreed and got my second dose 28 days later. Unfortunately, I developed more issues, and still have no antibodies. It's been four months since my last vaccine and I still have lingering effects. I'm not sure if I should risk getting a booster.

My doctors are confused about what's going on with me. It could be a reaction to the vaccines. It could be my immune response triggered my lupus. It could be pure coincidence. Unfortunately, no one really knows. I'm totally not anti vaccine, but my issues were scary. I'll list a few unusual ones in case anyone else experienced the same thing. At least you'll know you're not alone. Significant jaw pain, drooping mouth (thankfully that went away quickly), stiff neck, significant bruising, tendon issues, knee issues, rashes, etc, etc....
