Thank you, just beautiful! Do you have any preferences for farms and varieties?

Ah, you're giving me the bug, I can't seem to get my SO into koi though, but he's up for a pond, so I'm going on the hope of "build it and they will come... :Up_to_something:

Very cool DF! Thanks for the pictures! I really don't know anything about these fish but man the $$ and time they take - wow!!

I love to watch aquariums but I still have that fear that when you leave and come back they might be dead - just like my goldfish when I was a little girl!

I'm so jealous.
I'd love to have a koi pond but don't have the time.

wiser to spent $$$ on jewelry.there's only one thing certain about koi soon or later "they'll die".wish i can have all the money back that i spent on the fish hobby and spent it on diamonds instead, cuz diamonds don't die.

My first quality Kohaku did a grand launch from my indoor pond the same day I picked her up from the airport.
She then flopped her way under the heat register and dried out. I came home from dinner and couldn't figure out where she'd gone, I was frantically counting koi...
When I found her I was devastated, I put her in water and she began to breathe, I held her upright for three hours in the pond, like a beached whale rescue, my hands shriveled to a prune and she eventually died.
I was gutted...yeah diamonds are "forever" by comparison :blackeye:

I know nothing about Koi but can someone please explain what "going to the mud" means?

Beautiful fish and tanks by the way :D

it means putting the koi into a "big mud pond" for growth from May-Oct. the koi will be harvested in Oct.
